Campbell: Campbell University’s Strength and Conditioning Department is currently seeking 1-2 qualified intern candidates for Summer 2018. Internship will begin May 21, 2018 and conclude on July 28, 2018. This is an unpaid position. No monetary compensation will be provided. Accepted applicants will be eligible to apply completed hours during the internship towards CSCCa practicum requirements and/or undergraduate/graduate internship requirements, in addition to gaining a recommendation for future employment. Intern responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to the following: 1.) Assisting with the supervision of athletes and implementation of training programs for various sports, 2.) Setting up and breaking down of equipment for training sessions, 3.) Assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities, 4.) Active participation in projects and assignments throughout the duration of the internship, 5.) Any other duties assigned by the Strength and Conditioning staff. Applicants must be certified or working towards certification with the CSCCa (SCCC) or the NSCA (CSCS) and have current CPR/AED certification. Candidates must possess a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan Sports Performance is seeking highly motivated people to fill the Summer 2018 internship positions working with all 21 sports teams. This internship will start May 14th, 2018 thru July 2018. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. The candidate must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field and MUST be CPR and First Aid certified. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting staff in the design and implementation of strength programs including set up and breakdown of training equipment; as well as assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, and ongoing professional development through the internship curriculum. Preferred Qualifications: Intense work ethic, and highly motivated. Experience working in a Strength or Sports Performance environment; currently hold or working towards a nationally- accredited strength and conditioning certification (SCCC or CSCS) PLEASE NOTE: These are non-paid volunteer position. The Citadel: The Citadel is currently accepting applications for four VOLUNTEER Strength & Conditioning (S&C) interns for SUMMER 2018. The internship will last from May 29 – July 27. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division 1 S&C environment under the guidance of an approved CSCCa mentor. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; an unwavering work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, the ability to adjust to a demanding work schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer productivity applications. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, daily, weekly, and semester long professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the S&C staff.
