Arizona: The University of Arizona Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting 5 applications for Volunteer Interns for the Spring of 2021. This internship will begin January, 2021 and will conclude at the end of May 2021 with opportunity to stay through the summer. This is an unpaid position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University of Arizona Football, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. All applicants should have, or be working towards an accredited certification (CSCS or SCCC). Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. The University at Albany: The University at Albany Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Spring of 2021. This internship will begin January 20th and will conclude in May of 2021. These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University at Albany Football and all seventeen Olympic Sports. Interns will gain hands on experience in a Division 1 setting, assist with set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Postgraduate applicants are also required to hold a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA) and all undergraduate applicants should be working towards their certification. Houston Baptist: Houston Baptist University: HBU’s Athletic Performance Staff is looking for interns for the Spring semester of 2021. We are looking for interns who are highly motivated and passionate about training athletes regarding physical preparation, injury reduction, and most of all character development. Interns will be getting hands on coaching experience at a Division 1 University. Along with working with athletes of various sports, interns will take part in HBU’s in-depth curriculum that covers programing, coaching, knowledge, and personal/spiritual growth. This internship is set on running from mid-January through early May, but the exact dates are to be determined. Applicants must be seeking to become an Athletic Performance Coach/ Strength and Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and/or a certification through the NSCA or CSCCA. Although this is an UNPAID internship, we will provide other benefits such as athletic gear. On top of gaining valuable experience, interns will have the opportunity to earn a recommendation for future employment in the field as well as the POSSIBILITY of transitioning into a graduate assistant role at Houston Baptist University after the spring semester. Coaching experience will consist of working with Football and/or multiple Olympic sports. UW-Oshkosh (D-III): The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is currently accepting applications for VOLUNTEER interns for the spring 2021 semester. Internship will begin February 1st and end May 14th. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with all aspects of training for 8 intercollegiate athletic teams, daily facility set-up and maintenance, assisting with instruction and skill demonstration during training sessions, data collection and entry, completion of internship course curriculum, and assisting with outside activities as assigned by the Coordinator of Strength and Conditioning. Candidate must be willing to adhere to all UW Oshkosh, WIAC, and NCAA regulations. Applicants must be certified or working toward certification with the CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS) and/or USAW, and have current CPR/AED certification. The successful candidate(s) must be highly motivated, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability and commitment to work within the mission and purpose of UW Oshkosh. Candidates must have a desire to learn more about the strength and conditioning profession, have knowledge of multi-joint strength movements, Olympic lifts, speed, agility and plyometric training, and basic knowledge of the human anatomy. Previous experience at the college level or as a collegiate athlete is preferred. This is an UNPAID position. However, the candidate(s) will receive experience working in a collegiate setting, gain knowledge of training methodology and program design, and the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Interns will also receive college credit if applicable. Georgia Southern: The Georgia Southern University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is looking to fill a Graduate Assistant Position starting in January 2021. This position includes a tuition waiver and monthly stipend. The Graduate Assistant will be working exclusively with the football strength staff and Georgia Southern football program. All applicants must be either CSCS or SCCC certified with valid CPR/AED certification and have attained a 3.0 or higher GPA in their undergraduate course work. A minimum of one-year experience in collegiate strength & conditioning is preferred. Southern (LA): Southern University (Baton Rouge, LA) is accepting applications for a VOLUNTEER STRENGTH & CONDITIONING APPRENTICE. This apprenticeship will be immersive and demanding. Position provides on campus housing. Responsibilities include: Opportunity to run multiple Olympic Sports. Assist with Football and Men’s Basketball; Complete continuing education curriculum.
