UCLA: The University of California at Los Angeles: Currently seeking highly motivated candidates to fill positions for our Football Performance Internship Program for the Winter-Spring 2020 season. This position is an UNPAID position and will begin the 6th of January. Individuals chosen will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I program, through our comprehensive internship education curriculum as well as practical sessions. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: shadowing warms ups, implementation of proper lifting techniques, spotting and daily operation/maintenance of the weight room and nutrition areas, record keeping, internship curriculum and helping create a great training environment. SMU: The Southern Methodist University Human Performance Department is currently accepting applications for a Volunteer Intern Strength & Conditioning Coach for the SPRING 2020 semester. Responsibilities include assisting with football, 1-3 Olympic sports, and completing an educational curriculum. This internship can be used for course credits. Interested applicants must exhibit effective communication skills, positive energy, attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and a willingness to work. Preferred qualifications include a completed Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field and a certification through the CSCCa/NSCA. Miami: University of Miami (FL) Strength and Conditioning is seeking highly motivated people to fill the Spring 2020 internship positions working primarily with Football , but will help with some Olympic sports. This internship will start January 10 , 2020 and will end April 30 , 2020. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. The candidate must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field and MUST be CPR and First Aid certified. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting staff in the design and implementation of strength programs including set up and breakdown of training equipment; as well as assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, and ongoing professional development through the internship curriculum. Preferred Qualifications: Strong work ethic, and highly motivated. Experience working in a Strength or Sports Performance environment; currently hold or working towards a nationally- accredited strength and conditioning certification (USAW, SCCC, CSCS, etc.) PLEASE NOTE: These are non-paid volunteer position.
