Tulane: Tulane University Strength and Conditioning is currently seeking applicants for 3 volunteer UNPAID internships for BOTH Football (2) and Olympic Sports (1) for the Spring Semester 2018. This position will run from January 16th to May 4th. Required qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors or masters degree in exercise science or a related field and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications: Experience as a collegiate athlete and currently pursuing or possessing NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s). This is a non-paid volunteer position, it may fulfill course credit if necessary. North Dakota State: North Dakota State University’s Strength and Conditioning department is seeking applicants for a Football Strength Conditioning unpaid Internship for the spring semester of 2018. This position will begin in January and end in May. The intent of the internship is to provide a semesters worth of hands-on coaching experience working with our strength and conditioning staff and eventually with our student-athletes. This will allow the individual to gain knowledge of our program thus making them a viable candidate for future GA positions. Duties will include assisting the Director of Football Strength & Conditioning with all aspects of the football strength and conditioning program as well as daily maintenance of the nutrition area, weightroom and other responsibilities as assigned. Applicants must be prepared to work long hours. These hours will vary throughout the internship and will include early morning, late afternoon, or weekend hours. Requirements: Applicants must possess a relentless work-ethic and have a strong desire to work with football in an intense environment. They must understand the importance nutrition plays in the development of student-athlete and be willing to assist in that role. Again, this is a hands-on internship where you will be expected to coach student-athletes once you have taken the time and interest in learning the system. Candidates that are open-minded, inquisitive and have the ability to listen and learn through an example-based, learning environment are encouraged to apply. North Florida: The University of North Florida Strength and Conditioning Department is in search of qualified candidates for 2-3 volunteer internship positions for the 2018 Spring Semester. This is an unpaid position. Successful applicants will gain valuable experience working with Division-I athletes, knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a Division-I strength and conditioning program, and potential class credit. Day to day responsibilities will include setup and breakdown of lifting/conditioning sessions, facility maintenance and upkeep, and other tasks given by the full time staff. Prospective applicants should hold or be working toward a CSCS or SCCC certification, and/or be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Additional qualifications include a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach, punctuality, high energy, and confidence in a group setting. Start date is Friday, January 5th, 2018.
