Prairie View A&M: Prairie View A&M is seeking an assistant strength and conditioning coach. This position is responsible for assisting the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in overseeing the administration and management of the strength and conditioning area of Athletics to improve the athlete’s performance, train them in injury preventative methods, instruct, lead and supervise workouts for assigned teams. CSCCA or CSCS Certification, a bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of coaching experience are required. Duties and Responsibilities Include: Creating, organizing, and instructing workouts for all assigned teams and student athletes; Facilitating performance enhancement, injury preventative, and mental toughness measures for Prairie View A&M University student athletes; Assisting with the maintenance of Weight Room equipment, to include equipment cleaning and repair; Maintaining testing procedures for assigned sports and assisting with Strength and Conditioning administrative duties as well as day to day departmental administrative duties; Administering warm-up and flexibility programs for sports teams, as requested; Advising and counseling student-athletes regarding proper nutrition; Assists in on-site recruiting activities related to the Weight Room and other Departmental facilities; Performing other duties and special projects as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach; Adhering to all established rules and regulations of these governing entities, NCAA, SWAC, TAMIS, PVAMU and the Department of Athletics; Reporting any violations of these rules and regulations that may arise to the proper officials; Attending clinics, workshops, and conventions to remain current in knowledge relating to strength and conditioning of athletes in Division I athletic programs; Attending NCAA rules and regulations training to remain current and aware of any changes; Assisting Head Strength and Conditioning Coaches in all phases of the strength and conditioning program. Southeastern Louisiana: Southeastern Louisiana University Strength & Conditioning Department is accepting applications for Spring 2017 NON-PAID/VOLUNTEER internship positions. Successful applicants must not only have the desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, but also possess a relentless work ethic and positive attitude. The Strength & Conditioning staff possess a variety of certifications including the NSCA-CSCS, NSCA-RSCC, CSCCa-SCCC, USA-W, FMS, and EXOS-XPS The interns, along with the curriculum set by the strength staff, will be required to complete a minimum of 320 hours throughout the duration. The intern will earn the opportunity to be assigned individual teams to oversee, along with assisting the strength staff with all other Southeastern Louisiana University D-1 Southland Conference sports teams. Applicants must also be willing to work early mornings and late nights during the week and weekends. Free apparel will be provided to the student during participation. Applicants should be working towards completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
