UTEP: The University of Texas at El Paso is looking to hire one (1) graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach starting in the spring semester of 2020. The graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach will assist with Football and Olympic sports as assigned. They may also be placed in charge of 1-2 teams of their own. This position holds the responsibility of ensuring compliance with the NCAA regulations, and UTEP policies and procedures. Required: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sports or health sciences discipline, such as Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or other related field. Also Required: CPR, AED and First Aid certification, Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC) or National Strength and Conditional Association (CSCS) certification, and six months minimum experience in strength and conditioning. This position includes full tuition waiver, books, and stipend, and is limited to 2 years in duration. In order to be awarded the position the candidate must be admitted to graduate school at The University of Texas at El Paso. Background checks are also required by the University. Florida State: Florida State Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for interns for the Spring of 2020. This is a volunteer, UNPAID, position and offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity for future recommendations or opportunities in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include: assist the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in the training of the Florida State University’s Division I football program; assist with daily administrative and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; spotting athletes; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Minimum Qualifications: must have a strong work-ethic, enthusiasm and a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW and CPR –First Aid certification. Candidates must email a letter of application, resume and the names of three references to Assistant Football Strength and Conditioning Coach Joey Carnes jcarnes@fsu.edu.

West Georgia (D-II): Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach: This position will start in the spring of 2020. You will receive a tuition waiver, and a $3000 stipend each semester. Fairfield (D-I - CT): Fairfield University Sports Performance is seeking highly motivated candidates for UNPAID intern positions for the spring 2020 semester. Responsibilities will include: Assist full-time staff in demonstration and supervision of exercises in a team setting consisting of 20 varsity sports (non-football) and two club sports, set up varsity weight room for team lifts, stock Stags Fueling Station with nutritional supplements, assist in performance testing & recording, input athlete data and organization/presentation of data, maintenance of hygienic environment for all student-athletes & coaches, monitor inventory and equipment safety, possible opportunity to warm-up and cool-down teams during practice and competition, based on credentials and experience. Qualifications: (Preferred) – Bachelor’s degree or current coursework towards degree in exercise science or related field of study, CSCS certification, previous strength and conditioning experience in a collegiate setting, experience in designing and implementing training programs, CPR/AED certification. Livingstone College (D-II - NC): Livingstone College, a member of The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Conference and sponsor of 14 Division II sports, is seeking applicants for the Head Strength and Conditioning coach’s position starting in December 2019. The Head Strength and Conditioning coach will oversee all aspects of developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for all 14 Division II sport programs. Required qualifications include completion of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a certification from a nationally credited association (NSCA-CSCS, SCCC), and First Aid CPR/AED certification. Additional qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. Salary is commensurate with experience. Applicants will also be asked to participate in a background check. UT-Rio Grande Valley (D-I): The University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley is accepting applications for Spring 2020 January - June Interns. A degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field or in final semester of degree and current CPR/AED certifications is required. Daily responsibilities include, but not limited to: assist the staff in all day-to-day operations. Practical experiences will include but are not limited to: assisting staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs, leading small groups independently, set up/breakdown of training equipment and assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities. This is an UNPAID/VOLUNTEER position. However, successful completion of this internship can fulfill 640 hours towards SCCC certification, all fees associated with certification, travel to CSCCa National Conference, and hotel expenses. Interns will be subject to and must pass a criminal background check to be eligible for the position.
