East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State University Football Strength & Conditioning is looking for THREE hard working, enthusiastic, energetic volunteer interns who can communicate, are confident, mentally tough, and can have a presence with coaching Division 1 Football Student-Athletes for the Summer 2020 Semesters and Fall 2020 Semester. The individuals chosen for this position must be able to begin June 1st and work through August 1st for the Summer and August 1st through December for the Fall Semester. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning field throughout the country. Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, and have a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the CSCCa or the NSCA. Grand View: The Grand View University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for an internship position for Summer 2020 working with all programs. Internship responsibilities will differ and include various duties within the Grand View Strength and Conditioning department. Hours will vary during the summer and will include early mornings and late afternoons. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, daily maintenance and upkeep of the facility, and completing an internship curriculum. Candidates will receive valuable hands on coaching experience in all aspects as well as the opportunity to learn and grow in the field of Strength and Conditioning. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should hold or be pursuing a BA/BS in Kinesiology or Exercise Science related field, CPR/First Aid, AED certified, possess or be working toward CSCS through NSCA or SCCC through the CSCCa. CSCCa mentorship is available to assist your eligibility for the certification. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, positive energy, attention to detail, sense of urgency, and strong work ethic. Skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel are recommended. This position has a tentative start date of May 25th however, may be adjusted depending on our current situation with Covid-19 and its duration.
