William Penn: William Penn University is currently accepting applications for a PAID Athletic Performance Fellowship. This is a 12 month position starting ASAP. There will be a monthly stipend attached to the position, continuing education opportunities such as attending conferences and clinics, and other potential opportunities to supplement income. At the end of the position, there is a possibility of continuing on as a Graduate Assistant or placement elsewhere as a Graduate Assistant – dependent on performance and availability of positions. Responsibilities include assisting with the design and implementation for a variety of William Penn University’s collegiate sports. The qualified candidate will be assigned sport(s) based on his/her background and experience. The position will also assist the Head Athletic Performance coach, help with maintenance of the Randleman Fitness Center, and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Performance Coach. Proven knowledge and experience with sport specific strength, speed, and agility programs is necessary. Additionally, there will be work with high school athletic performance programs that may require some travel.Candidates must hold a BA/BS in exercise science or a health related field and be working toward certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength & Conditioning Association, SCCC through the CSCCa, and/or hold a USAW-Sports Performance Certificate. Candidates must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA within their undergraduate field of study. Candidates with an athletic background or experience (volunteer/intern) in a collegiate strength and conditioning program is preferred. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and have the ability to effectively work with student athletes, the sports medicine staff, administrators and sport coaches. New Orleans: University of New Orleans Sports Performance is looking for hardworking, enthusiastic volunteer interns who are confident, have a presence and are able to assist with coaching Division 1 Student- Athletes for the Fall/Spring 2018/2019 School year. The individuals chosen for this position need to be available ASAP. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning field throughout the country. Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, and have a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the CSCCa or the NSCA. A CSCCa 640-Hour Mentorship can be completed during this internship. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the Sports Performance staff. Candidates should have competed in a varsity sport at the High School or Collegiate level to have a better understanding of what it takes to compete and train as an athlete.
