Iowa: The University of Iowa Football Strength and Conditioning is accepting internship applicants for Summer 2020 (May-July). This internship is designed for individuals who want to become collegiate strength coaches. This is an unpaid volunteer position. Duties include: Set up and breakdown of the weightroom, equipment maintenance and general support of the daily operations of the program. Interns will have the opportunity to assist with our functional movement screen, on-field and weight room testing as well as data analysis. Participation in an internship curriculum is required. Interns must complete all of the assignments in our internship curriculum. Curriculum materials will be provided. Qualifications: Applicants must be pursing or have completed Bachelors or Masters in Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be working toward CSCCa certification. South Florida: University of South Florida Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning Intern Coaches for the Spring Semester of 2020. This is an UNPAID position; however, this opportunity offers a valuable professional recommendation for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the daily implementation of off- season training for the USF Football team, set-up and breakdown of daily strength and conditioning training sessions, routine maintenance, cleaning and organization of the training facility, data collection, as well as participation in an internship curriculum. Yale: Yale University Sports Performance is looking for candidates to fulfill internship positions for the Summer and Fall 2020 semesters. The internship is a comprehensive experience providing hands on education in the weight room, with a classroom component, including lectures on program design, theory, nutrition, athletic testing, and more. The internship will provide the opportunity to work hands on with the Football team that has just won the 2019 Ivy Championship and finished #17 in the nation. In addition, interns will work with the 2018 National Championship Men’s Lacrosse team. Yale has 30 teams that interns will have the opportunity to work with for added experience. This is a rigorous internship with hours that would closely mimic that of a full time strength coach. The goal of this internship is to prepare individuals for full time positions upon completion. There is no monetary compensation for the internship, but there is the opportunity to use this internship as a site for the completion of College requirements. The internship is also an NSCA accredited continuing education site. You will receive 2 CEU's for participating in the internship. The ideal candidate will be a current college student, or one who has recently graduated. Preference will be given to those who are in Exercise Science, who have collegiate athletic experience, or prior weight room experience.
