Hartford: Hartford is currently accepting applications for highly-motivated VOLUNTEER coaches for Fall 2019. The internship will begin September 9 th and will run through the end of the Fall Semester. This is an unpaid, volunteer position. Interns will be given valuable experience in the field of collegiate Strength & Conditioning, along with the opportunity to work with 17 Division I programs. Daily Duties include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of lifting programs for various sports, performing daily maintenance of the weight room, data input/interpretation, and professional development throughout the internship. Qualifications: currently pursuing Bachelors/Masters in Exercise Science or related field, certified in CPR/AED & First Aid, and working towards NSCA-CSCS and/or CSCCa-SCCC. Georgia Southern: Georgia Southern University Olympic Strength and Conditioning department is looking to fill four to five (4-5) Fall VOLUNTEER assistant positions. Qualified candidates will work directly with the Georgia Southern Olympic Sports teams including but not limited to; baseball/softball, men’s/women’s basketball, volleyball and men’s/women’s soccer. This is an UNPAID opportunity that provides experience working in a Division I environment within the Sun Belt Conference. Interns will complete a comprehensive internship curriculum designed for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning through mentorship, teaching, professional/personal development and pre-arranged networking opportunities with other college strength coaches. Qualified candidates (CSCS or SCCC) will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions with the implementation of individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. Required qualifications: current CPR / AED; completion of an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be working toward or have completed certification(s) from CSCCa and/or NSCA. Seeking those who will embody the Georgia Southern culture: blue collar, servant leaders. Start date (in Statesboro, GA) is flexible (mid-August). There will be potential of retention through the 2020 spring semester. UNC-Charlotte: UNC- Charlotte (Olympic Sports) is seeking applications for a Part-Time Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This will start in August and will run until the end of the 2020 spring semester. Compensation is $15,500 with no benefits. This position will assist in the implementation of the Strength Program for M & W Track & Field. Additionally, this position will assist the strength and conditioning staff with upkeep of the facilities and assist with other sports if needed. Candidates must have one of the following certifications Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa). Saint Louis: Saint Louis University Sports Performance is currently accepting applications for volunteer interns for fall 2019. Saint Louis University is an NCAA Division I program that is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, assisting the Director of Sports Performance and staff with the implementation of sport specific speed, agility, and conditioning programs. Additional responsibilities include weight room supervision, instruction, daily upkeep, and maintenance of equipment and any other duties as assigned by the staff. Desired applicants shall be working towards completion of degree, require fieldwork experience to fulfill credit hours, and working towards the CSCS and/or SCCC certification. This is an unpaid position, however, education on programming, on the floor coaching, and daily operations will be a cornerstone of the internship. Responsibilities may vary due to the work history, coaching experience, and educational background of the individual. Commitment to the profession of sports performance is a must. Christopher Newport: Christopher Newport University is seeking highly motivated strength and conditioning interns for the fall 2019 semester. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with the implementation of sport specific programs that incorporate injury prevention, mobility, flexibility, and strength and speed exercises. This is an UNPAID position, school appropriate apparel will be provided. Academic credits can be applied towards an Exercise Science or related Undergraduate or Graduate program. Interns will have every opportunity to grow as a strength coach by learning proper progressions, continuing education through research and hands on coaching. Qualifications: hard work ethic, attention to detail, high energy, Bachelor's degree or in progress of obtaining a Bachelor's degree, have or looking to obtain a certification (CSCS, SCCC and USAW).
