Stanford: James Perez, Sam Contorno & Thomas Farniok have all accepted positions with Stanford Football Sports Performance. Perez is joining the Cardinal from Fresno State Football as an Associate Sports Performance Coach. Contorno has been elevated to Assistant Sports Performance Coach after her time on staff as a part time assistant, and Farniok joins the staff from Louisiana Tech as an Assistant Sports Performance Coach.

East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State University Football Strength & Conditioning is looking for THREE hard working, enthusiastic volunteer interns who can communicate, are confident, mentally tough, and can have a presence with coaching Division 1 Football Student-Athletes for the Fall 2019 Semester. The individuals chosen for this position must be able to begin August 24th and work through December 13th . This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning field throughout the country. Exceptional individuals may have the opportunity to work themselves into opening graduate assistant positions within the program for January 2020. Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, and have a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the CSCCa or the NSCA. A CSCCa 640-Hour Mentorship can be completed during this internship. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the Strength and Conditioning staff. Candidates should have competed in a varsity sport at the High School or Collegiate level to have a better understanding of what it takes to compete and train as an athlete. Miles: Miles College in Fairfield Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Department of Athletics. This individual develops and administers strength and conditioning programs for assigned Olympic sports programs and assists with the strength and conditioning of Football. Performs other duties as assigned. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for athletic teams as assigned. Teaching safe and effective lifting techniques, speed development, agility and conditioning exercise for the enhancement of athletic ability and prevention of injury. Supporting and effectively communicating the strength and conditioning department’s philosophy and vision to the student-athlete and sport coaching staffs. Assisting in maintaining the strength and conditioning equipment and facility. May include evenings and weekends. Bachelor’s Degree required NSCA (CSCS) and or CSCCA certification. CPR and AED certifications required. 1+ years of experience in strength and conditioning at the collegiate or professional level or related work experience required. Austin Peay: The Austin Peay State University Football Sports Performance Program is currently accepting applications for UNPAID fall internships to begin Sunday, August 4th, 2019 and go through until the end of the season. Applicants should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a related field. Completion of this internship can fulfill credit hours towards a program degree and offer increased opportunities for advancement in the field of sports performance. Preferred qualifications include certification(s) from one or more of the following organizations: The CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), or USAW. Preferred qualifications also include previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching basic weight room exercises. This position is responsible for assisting the football sports performance staff with the implementation of the off-season program, set up and break down of all training sessions, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training division-I collegiate athletes. Penn: The University of Pennsylvania Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking applicants who are highly motivated to fill internship positions for the Fall of 2019 starting the week of 8/26/19 and going through 12/10/19. This is an unpaid position, but candidates will be potentially eligible for a NSCA Assistantship. Academic credits can be applied towards an Exercise Science or related Undergraduate or Graduate program if applicable. This internship is approved for those preparing to complete the required hours for the SCCC certification. While working with 33 Division I athletic programs, interns will gain practical coaching experience in accordance with the philosophy of the department. Expectations include: assist the strength and conditioning staff in all areas of program design and implementation; set-up and breakdown of sessions; cleaning and upkeep of facility; spotting and working with specified student-athletes and/or small groups; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Qualifications: positive energy, strong work ethic, attention to detail, eagerness to learn and contribute, effective communication skills, Bachelor’s degree or a degree in process, hold certification(s) and/or seeking to get certified in at least one of these major certifications:SCCC, CSCS, and/or USAW. Must be willing to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Birmingham Southern: Birmingham-Southern College is currently accepting applications for VOLUNTEER interns for the Fall of 2019 semester. The Internship will begin August 12 th and will end December 6 th . Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Assisting with the set-up, implementation, and supervision of 22 Division-III Athletic teams (including Football). Potential applicants will also assist the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with all daily maintenance and operational duties. Throughout the semester the potential candidate could receive weekly intern education, practical coaching experience, and a basic knowledge of FRC principles if the willingness to learn and work ethic is shown on a daily basis. Qualifications: In pursuit of or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in an Exercise Science related field, and currently possess or be working towards certification through the USAW, NSCA, or CSCCa. Compensation: This is an unpaid position with no housing or meal assistance.
