Samford: Samford University Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER INTERNS. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for all Sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities and participation in weekly projects and professional development throughout the internship program. Compensation: Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. Candidates must have a strong work-ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework for undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW) are preferred. CSCCa mentorship program will be available for candidates seeking to obtain the SCCC certification. LaGrange (D-III - GA): The LaGrange College SPEED Center is currently seeking highly motivated and committed volunteer strength and conditioning interns for the Fall 2017 academic year. As an intern on our staff you will be joining an experienced team of professionals that will guide you through a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop you into a high-level strength & conditioning practitioner. The core features of this program include constructing evidence-based annual training plans, hands-on coaching experience in a Division III collegiate weight room, and implementing athlete monitoring strategies to maximize training effectiveness. Upon completion of the internship program, interns should be able to demonstrate competency in constructing annual training plans using a block periodization & phase potentiation model, as well as show proficiency in performing and coaching training exercises (i.e.- basic barbell exercises, weightlifting movements & derivatives, plyometrics, speed development drills, etc.). They will also be exposed to a variety of athlete monitoring strategies using force platforms, barbell accelerometers, inertial measurement units, and heart rate monitors. Applicants must be in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in a related field, as well as a strong desire to pursue a career in the field of strength and conditioning. Louisiana-Lafayette: Ragin' Cajuns Football Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for volunteer internship positions. Report date is July 30th and will run through December 3rd. These are unpaid positions. Candidates should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS in an Exercise Science related field plus current CPR/AED certification. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a strong desire to pursue collegiate strength and conditioning. Candidates will have opportunities to work with other Olympic Sports if desired and complete weekly assignments following the internship curriculum. Please submit your resume and three (3) professional references to Dylan Cintula, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at rdc1261@louisiana.edu.

Saint Joseph's (FCS - PA): Saint Joseph's University is currently accepting applications to fill 2-3 VOLUNTEER INTERN positions for the FALL 2017 semester. Saint Joseph's University is a DIVISION 1 school located in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and competes in the A-10 conference. One candidate will be selected to work specifically with the basketball programs at Saint Joseph's University. The remaining candidates selected will assist with Olympic sports that are assigned to them. Candidates will gain Division 1 experience, knowledge of sound yearly programming and training practices, experience with POLAR HEART RATE SYSTEMS data collection and interpretation, experience working with TEAMBUILDR, as well as fulfill practical internship hours under a Master Strength Coach mentor and be eligible to sit for the SCCC certification offered by the CSCCa. Applying candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or a related field, desire to pursue a future career in strength and conditioning, and flexible hours including weekends. The start date for the positions will be August 21st, 2017.
