Liberty: The Liberty University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for the positions of VOLUNTEER INTERN for Fall Semester of 2020. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES will include but are not limited to assisting in the implementation of the Strength and Conditioning programs; set up and break down for daily activities, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and participation in the internship curriculum. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION, HOUSING, OR TRANSPORTATION will be provided, however, Interns will receive experience working in a Division 1 training environment and have the opportunity to earn recommendations for future career opportunities and/or receive college credit if applicable. The Intern’s level of ambition will determine the level of the learning experience. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a strong work ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Interns are expected to be punctual, enthusiastic, reliable, productive and consistent along with having the financial capability to hold the position for the duration of the internship. Ideal candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework earning and undergraduate degree in exercise science or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (NSCA, CSCS; CSCCa, SCCC; USAW) is preferred but not required. Barca Residency: Barca Residency Academy soccer is looking to hire a strength and conditioning intern. Under supervision of the Director of Strength & Conditioning, develop and monitor strength and conditioning programs for assigned athletic teams. Assist in fitness testing, computation of results, and evaluation of individual athletes. Teach proper lifting technique and assist in spotting heavy lifts when necessary. Assist in general maintenance, cleaning of the facility and its equipment. Anticipate potential risks of injury, take measures to remove them, and in the event of an injury, have the ability to implement emergency medical procedures. Assist the Director of Strength & Conditioning with all tasks for which he or she is responsible and manage general operation of the facility in the Head S&C’s absence. Effectively and properly motivate athletes to achieve maximum potential in all areas of performance. Travel with designated teams to away games. Work and communicate effectively with other coaches in the athletic department. Prepare lifting progress cards for assigned sports. Assist in the training of facility supervisors. Keep updated on strength and conditioning research. Perform other duties as assigned by the director. Perform the duties of the facility supervisor as needed. Download, separate, and transfer sports science data to help sports coaches better plan for field training. Meet with athletes on a weekly basis to discuss nutrition protocols set for by the Director of Strength & Conditioning. Must have or be working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field.
