North Florida: The University of North Florida Strength and Conditioning Department is in search of qualified candidates for 2-3 volunteer internship positions for Summer 2018. This is an unpaid position. Successful applicants will gain valuable experience working with Division-I athletes, knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a Division-I strength and conditioning program, and potential class credit. Day to day responsibilities will include setup and breakdown of lifting/conditioning sessions, facility maintenance and upkeep, and other tasks given by the full time staff. Prospective applicants should hold or be working toward a CSCS or SCCC certification, and/or be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Additional qualifications include a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach, punctuality, high energy, and confidence in a group setting. Start date is Friday, June 1st, 2018. Colorado: The University of Colorado Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for two (2) internship positions for the Summer 2018 Semester. These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University of Colorado Football team, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Postgraduate applicants are also required to hold a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA) and all undergraduate applicants should be working towards their certification. Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. Elon: Elon University is currently accepting applications to fill three to four summer 2018 volunteer internship positions. The internship will begin May 28 th and conclude July 27 th . Qualified candidates must possess a strong work ethic, display an eagerness to learn, and have experience in strength and conditioning. This is a voluntary position and will receive no monetary compensation. Preference will be given to candidates who possess or are working towards certification through the NSCA or CSCCa, all applicants must have a current CPR/AED certification prior to the start date. Accepted applicants will be eligible to apply completed hours during the internship towards CSCCa practicum requirements under the supervision of a CSCCa approved mentor. Accepted applicants are also eligible to apply internship hours towards undergraduate/graduate internship requirements. Intern responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to the following: 1.) Assisting with the supervision of daily training, 2.) Setting up and breaking down equipment for training sessions, 3.) Assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities, 4.) Participation in weekly coaching education curriculum, 5.)
