Florida Atlantic: The Florida Atlantic Olympic Sports Strength & Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant (GA). Florida Atlantic University is a public university in Boca Raton, FL home to 18 NCAA Division I Athletics Programs. This position provides tuition remission as well as a stipend for $11,500 spread throughout the year bi-weekly, for a full-year contract (fall, spring, and summer terms). Candidates outside the state of Florida will be required to cover Out-Of-State fees. You must be accepted into the FAU Exercise Science Graduate School prior to employment & graduate degree will be in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. Intended start date is August 16th, 2019. Responsibilities: Assisting in all aspects of the FAU Olympic Sports Strength & Conditioning program, design and implementation of sport specific training programs for 2-3 Olympic Sports teams with the opportunity to assist with other Olympic Sports; ability to effectively teach and execute proper technique of lifts and drills; supervision of team workouts; assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the Strength & Conditioning Facility & compliance with all appropriate university, Conference USA, and NCAA Rules/Regulations. Work Qualifications: Experience working in an NCAA/NAIA 4- year college or university weight room with a variety of teams. Possess CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Candidates should be working toward or already obtained a certification from an accredited strength and conditioning organization (NSCA, USAW, CSCCa, etc.). Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs & Strength & Conditioning related technology is encouraged. School Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. FAU Graduate School requirements for Exercise Science are as follows: If undergraduate GPA < 3.0: GRE test score of 146 (verbal), 146 (quantitative). If undergraduate GPA > 3.0: GRE test score of 141 (verbal), 141 (quantitative). GRE Analytical Writing score of 4.0 if GPA < 3.0, 3.5 if GPA > 3.0. Candidates MUST maintain a 3.0 GPA in the Exercise Science & Health Promotions program. Texas Southern: The Texas Southern University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for Volunteer Intern Strength and Conditioning Coaches for the Summer of 2019. Projected dates of the Internship are June 3 rd through August 9 th 2019 with the possibility of an earning an extension. This is a voluntary position and will receive no monetary compensation. Priority consideration will be given to Candidates who possess or are working towards Certification through the NSCA or CSCCa and are CPR / First Aid / AED Certified. Desired attributes include outstanding organizational and computer skills, great work ethic and professionalism. Previous coaching and / or playing experience is a plus. Verbal communication skills with diverse populations is a must. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Set up and breakdown of training sessions for all sports, general maintenance and upkeep of Athletic Facilities, communication with Sport Coaches, Athletic Training staff and Administration, assist with Olympic Sports with the possibility of working with Football. Must be able to physically demonstrate strength and Olympic lifts as well as speed and change of direction movements. Added responsibilities as earned, such as, input into program design and leading groups / teams. Our goal is to develop COACHES. Selected candidates will receive valuable experience in the day to day operations of a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Department, program design and implementation, nutrition, speed, agility and explosive training. Ashland: The Ashland University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the summer 2019 strength and conditioning internship, working primarily with football and other assigned teams. This position will start June 17th and concludes August 2 nd , 2019. This is an UNPAID VOLUNTEER internship. This is a program for individuals who are highly motivated, willing to learn and gain knowledge in strength and conditioning, and coaching experience. Responsibilities include facility maintenance and up keep, professional development, and assisting with set up/break down of the weight room. More responsibility will be given to individuals who are able to prove they can handle more of a load. Applicants should possess a high level of enthusiasm and energy, a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science (or related field) or in final semester, certified in CPR/AED, and preferred to be certified or working towards a certification from the following organizations: CSCCA or NSCA. Missouri State: Missouri State University is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach position beginning June 1st, 2019. This position works with Football only, and provides a tuition waver and monthly stipend. Qualified candidates must possess a strong work ethic, experience in a collegiate/professional strength and conditioning setting, and an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better. Lindenwood (D-II - MO): The Lindenwood University Athletic Performance Department is looking to fill 3-4 Athletic Performance Intern Coach positions for Fall 2019. Positions require a 16-week commitment. These positions are unpaid, but offer experience, education, and an opportunity to fulfill course credits. The purpose of the internship program is to help educate and develop aspiring athletic performance coaches in all aspects of sport performance development. Successful candidates will begin around the second week of August 2019. Candidate must have a GPA of 3.0 or above, and candidate must be enrolled in an internship class working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in or related to Exercise Science during the time the internship would occur.
