South Alabama: The University of South Alabama Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for football interns for Summer 2018. This position offers Division I experience, training and the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include: assist the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in the supervision and training of the South Alabama football program; assist with daily cleaning and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout and spotting athletes. Minimum Qualifications: must have a strong work-ethic, passion for the strength and conditioning field and a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW and CPR –First Aid certification. Missouri Southern State: The Missouri Southern State University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for Volunteer Intern Strength and Conditioning Coaches for the summer of 2018. Projected dates of the Internship are June 4 th through August 3 rd 2018 with the possibility of an earning an extension. This is a voluntary position and will receive no monetary compensation. Preference will be given to Candidates who possess or are working towards Certification through the NSCA or CSCCa, CPR / First Aid / AED Certification, outstanding organizational and computer skills, great work ethic and professionalism. Previous coaching and / or playing experience is a plus. Verbal communication skills with diverse populations is a must. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Set up and breakdown of training sessions for all sports, general maintenance and upkeep of Athletic Facilities, communication with Sport Coaches, Athletic Training staff and Administration, assist with Football and all Olympic Sports. New Mexico: The University of New Mexico Football Athletic Performance Department is currently accepting applications for a VOLUNTEER Intern Strength and Conditioning coach position for the Summer 2018 semester. This is an UNPAID volunteer position, but academic credits can be applied towards an Exercise Science or related degree program if applicable. We are seeking highly passionate individuals who want to excel in the field of strength and conditioning. If this position is not economically feasible, please do not apply. Responsibilities: involvement in the supervision of training sessions, assisting with daily administrative tasks, data collection, daily set-up and breakdown of equipment, and operations for Football. Maryland: The University of Maryland is currently accepting applications to fill four (4) Spring 2018 volunteer internship positions. Qualified candidates would work with the Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department. This is an UNPAID position that is responsible for assisting the UMD Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the Summer 2018 program (May 29-Aug 17), set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion of Bachelor’s degree by the commencement of the intern program/current pursuit of a graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (USAW, CSCS, CSCCa).
