Colorado: The University of Colorado Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for two (2) internship positions for the Summer 2017 Semester. These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University of Colorado Football team, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Postgraduate applicants are also required to hold a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA) and all undergraduate applicants should be working towards their certification. Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. Central Connecticut State: Central Connecticut State University is seeking applicants for the position of Sports Performance Intern for the Summer 2017 semester. Responsibilities: Successful candidates will assist in organizing and implementing movement assessments, dynamic warm-ups, speed and agility training, exercise technique progressions, strength training, and performance testing for all student athletes. Interns will also be responsible for weekly assignments and readings, collecting and interpreting testing data, the daily maintenance of equipment and facilities, and the development of instructional videos. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required or working towards the completion of; First Aid and CPR certified, CSCS certified or working towards CSCS or other certification, and Division 1 coaching experience. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. Compensation: Successful candidates will receive valuable hands- on experience coaching college athletics. The Village School (Houston, TX): The Village School Strength & Performance Department is now accepting applications for interns for the 2017 summer strength & conditioning program as well as the Fall 2017 semester. The Village School is a private school servicing grades K-12 located in Houston, Texas. Responsibilities include assisting the Strength Staff in all aspects of developing and implementing strength, speed/agility, conditioning, flexibility, mobility, and recovery protocols for 18 boys and girls athletic programs. Daily weight room supervision, upkeep and maintenance of equipment, assist with performance and strength testing, completion of internship curriculum, and other duties as assigned. Interns will receive course credit towards graduation. Applicants must have a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should be enrolled in or completing their Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be certified in CPR/AED, and working towards certifications from any of the following organizations: NSCA, CSCCa, or USAW. Previous experience in strength and conditioning program preferred. Internship Dates: May 24, 2017 to July 28, 2017. Fall 2017 internships begin August 7, 2017.
