North Texas: The University of North Texas Football Strength and Conditioning Program is searching for aspiring strength and conditioning coaches to fill volunteer internship coaching positions available for the 2017 SPRING semester (1/9 – 5/5). Prospective internship candidates will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of the North Texas Strength and Conditioning coaching staff, as well as gain invaluable hands-on experience working with Division I athletes (Football ONLY). Interns will have the opportunity to participate in the University of North Texas Strength and Conditioning Professional Development & Educational Curriculum. Please note, this is a voluntary position and there is no monetary compensation. Applicants should be committed to developing themselves as a strength and conditioning professional and devoted to working their way up in the strength and conditioning coaching profession. USC: University of Southern California Department of Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for Spring 2017 internship (Football). Intern responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision of training programs, assisting with daily set up and maintenance and completion of various educational assignments during the internship. Intern qualifications include: strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm desire to further one’s career in the strength and conditioning field and ability to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: senior status or completion of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification and CPR certification. This is an unpaid internship. Interns will receive experience working in a PAC 12 training environment, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Arizona State: The Sports Performance Department is currently accepting applicants for the 2017 Winter internship program. Interns will work specifically with the Football program as well as our Olympic sports teams. The report date will be Wednesday, January 4th and run through the middle of May. Catawba (D-II - NC):Catawba College is seeking applications for ONE UNPAID Strength and Conditioning Internship opportunity beginning January 4th, 2017 until May 3rd, 2017. The position will assist with Football, Olympic Sports, as well as the opportunity to train one to two teams, men and women, based on experience level. Preferred applicants must be highly motivated, have a tremendous work ethic, and be interested in becoming a Strength/Performance Coach. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the Strength Staff in all aspects of program administration. The position requires working directly with student athletes to teach proper lifting technique, assess and document progress of the student athletes during training, and maintain a clean, sanitized weight room. As an intern within Catawba Strength & Conditioning, you will follow a protocol that allows you to learn how to: learn and teach proper lifting position and technique, research relevant training modalities, create exercise banks, develop training programs and manipulate those programs based on time of year, sport-specificity, exercise progression, training age, and available equipment. You will also be given monthly performance reviews to help you improve your abilities as a Strength Coach. All interns, if applicable, will have the opportunity for credit towards graduation with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Exercise Science or a related major. All applicants will be subject to a background check. Please apply only if you are financially able. No compensation (stipend, meals, housing, etc.) will be given.
