North Texas: UNT is searching for aspiring strength and conditioning coaches to fill volunteer mentorship coaching positions available for the 2017 SPRING semester (1/9 – 5/5). Prospective mentorship candidates will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of the North Texas Strength and Conditioning coaching staff, as well as gain invaluable hands-on experience working with Division I athletes (both Football and Olympic sports). Mentees will have the opportunity to participate in the UNT Strength and Conditioning Professional Development & Educational Curriculum. Please note, this is a voluntary position and there is no monetary compensation. Applicants should be committed to developing themselves as a strength and conditioning professional and devoted to working their way up in the strength and conditioning coaching profession. Millersville: Millersville University is currently seeking qualified volunteer / internship candidates for the spring 2017 semester. This is an unpaid position. The spring strength and conditioning program will run from January 16th until May 12th (dates are flexible). Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program of the football team and potentially other University athletic programs, teaching student athletes safe and proper exercise technique, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities and professional development throughout the internship. This internship will provide hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Florida International: Florida International University Strength & Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Volunteer Intern (3-4 positions) for Football for the Spring 2017 semester. The FIU staff is looking for highly motivated, hungry, aspiring strength coaches that want to work at the collegiate level. The program is beneficial for undergraduate students and the post bachelor professional looking for experience; as well as develops characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. The successful candidates will be required to schedule and maintain a minimum of 40 hours per week with the Strength & Conditioning Department. Compensation: Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities, learning directly from certified strength coaches, hands on experience with college athletes. No monetary compensation will be provided. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and a certification from one of the following: CSCS; SCCC; USAW but are not required. Muhlenberg: Muhlenberg college is looking to hire an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Work with Director of Strength and Conditioning to design and implement specific strength & conditioning programs for assigned teams. Supervise both individual and team workouts. Keep team and individual records. Implement and instruct Olympic weightlifting techniques. Assist in maintaining of all machines and free weight equipment in the weight room. Assist Director of Strength & Conditioning with all aspects of strength and conditioning program. Stipend is modest but does include opportunities for additional income in one or more of the following areas; game management, building operations or equipment room operations. Total compensation will range from $3,500-$8,000 annually PLUS housing and a meal stipend. Bachelors degree required. One or two years experience in a collegiate athletic weight room. Experience in all forms of strength training, flexibility, agility, speed, and conditioning. Motivate both small and large groups of athletes. Good communication & computer skills required.
