South Alabama: The University of South Alabama’s Football Strength and Conditioning Staff is currently accepting applications for the Spring of 2018 Internship. This is an unpaid position but can be used for school credit. Those accepted will receive Division 1 FBS experience and have the ability to earn professional references and possible future career recommendations. Duties include cleaning and maintenance of the facilities, aiding in preparation of athlete nutritional needs, set up and breakdown for lifts, spotting etc. Qualifications include: HIGH ENERGY, punctuality, and attention to detail. Kentucky: The University of Kentucky Football Performance Staff is currently seeking Strength and Conditioning Interns for the Winter/Spring of 2018. These Intern positions should be available from January 10, 2017 to May 4, 2017. Individuals will assist with “FOOTBALL” only. Preferred applicants must be highly motivated, possess a tremendous work ethic, and be interested in becoming a Strength and Conditioning/Performance Coach. Colorado: The University of Colorado Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for two (2) internship positions for the Spring 2018 Semester. These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University of Colorado Football team, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Postgraduate applicants are also required to hold a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA) and all undergraduate applicants should be working towards their certification. Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. Grand View (IA): Grand View University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is a 12 month position starting January 8 th , 2018 with a two year commitment. Tuition waiver and a monthly stipend are included. The Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will assist the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with all aspects of training for all sports. The qualified candidate will be assigned sports based on background and experience. Other responsibilities include, daily maintenance and upkeep of facility, assist in mentoring and evaluating interns, providing nutritional counseling/assessment for student-athletes, lead speed/agility sessions, etc. Candidates must hold a BA/BS in Kinesiology or exercise science related field. Possess or be working toward CSCS through the NSCA or the SCCC through the CSCCa. CPR, First Aid and AED certification required. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and have the ability to effectively work with student athletes, coaches, and support staff. Miles College: Miles College Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER INTERNS for Spring 2018. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for Football and all Olympic Sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, and attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities throughout the internship program. Immediate hands on experience with variety of male and female teams with earned recommendation for future career opportunities. There will be many opportunities for growing your own experience and knowledge with an assortment of sports teams. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. Candidates must have a strong work-ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework for undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or related field of study.
