South Dakota: The University of South Dakota is now accepting applications for 1-2 VOLUNTEER interns for the Spring 2017 semester. Interns will work with football and Olympic sports. Duties include: weight room maintenance, aiding in supervision of sessions and completion of USD’s performance coach development program. Qualifications include: desire to be a strength coach or be in the strength and conditioning field, strong work ethic, willingness to learn, passion for helping athletes and the program as a whole, great communication skills and a good organizer of people and resources. Interns will earn a hands-on approach to their education as it relates to strength and conditioning and potential for future recommendations for the advancement of the intern’s career and professional development. Applicants must have completed or be in the process of completing their bachelor’s degree. Southeastern Louisiana University: Southeastern Louisiana University Strength & Conditioning Department is accepting applications for Spring 2017 NON-PAID/VOLUNTEER internship positions (Start Date: January 11th – April 28th). Successful applicants must not only have the desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, but also possess a relentless work ethic and positive attitude. The Strength & Conditioning staff possess a variety of certifications including the NSCA-CSCS, NSCA-RSCC, CSCCa-RSCC, USA-W, FMS, and EXOS-XPS. The interns will be required to complete the internship curriculum throughout the duration. The intern will earn the opportunity to be assigned individual teams to oversee, along with assisting the strength staff with all other Southeast Louisiana University D-1 Southland Conference sports teams. Applicants must also be willing to work early mornings and late nights during the week and weekends. Opportunity for a part-time job in conjunction with the 20 hours per week required during the internship. Free apparel will be provided to the student during participation. Applicants should be working towards completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
