Cal: The University of California Berkeley Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Interns for Olympic Sports for the of Spring 2018. Candidates will be working with variety of Olympic Sports and must have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and desire to pursue this profession as a full time career. Preferred qualifications include: student working towards the completion of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification and CPR certification. This is an unpaid internship, no monetary compensation will be provided. Duration of Internship will be January 15-May 11. Interns will receive experience working in a PAC 12 training environment, experience with a variety of Olympic team sports, education to be able to pass the CSCS certification exam, have potential to earn future recommendations, and college credit if applicable. UCF: The University of Central Florida Sports Performance department is now accepting applications for 1-2 open positions for the spring 2018 internship program starting January 8th and lasting through May 1stwith the opportunity to continue into the spring semester. This internship is for Olympic sports ONLY (no football). Selected individuals should expect to gain experience working with all Olympic sports at the University of Central Florida. Applicants should be highly motivated, eager to learn, and possess the desire to be involved with high-level collegiate athletics. Applicants should be working toward a degree in Exercise Science, or hold an undergraduate degree in the respective field and be working towards an accredited certification (CSCS or SCCC). This is strictly a VOLUNTEER internship. There will be no monetary compensation for this position; however, selected individuals should expect to receive valuable experience with various Division 1 athletic programs. Western Michigan: Western Michigan University Olympic Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for INTERN/VOLUNTEER coach positions for the WINTER/SPRING 2018 semester. No prior experience is necessary. Daily responsibilities will include assisting with the supervision and implementation of perform training programs for Olympic sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training equipment, and completion of the internship education curriculum. Intern qualifications include: high interest in the field, passion to learn, punctuality, group speaking & communication skills, and strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include completion of bachelor degree in exercise science, physiology, kinesiology, or exercise related field. Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan University Sports Performance is looking for qualified and motivated sports performance volunteers for the Winter 2018 semester. The internship will begin Monday January 3rd and end on Friday April 13th 2018. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing or completed Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field; working towards NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, USAW certifications; CPR certification. One year of previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletics experience. Compensation: This is a non-paid position. Those accepted into the program will be provided with a one of a kind internship curriculum, practical strength and conditioning experience, and career mentorship. Hours completed can be applied toward undergraduate/graduate internship requirements and/or the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association certification practicum requirement. Monmouth (NJ): Monmouth University, located in West Long Branch, NJ is accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning Volunteer Interns. This is an unpaid position that will work with ALL SPORTS (including football). Interns will have the opportunity to gain college credit towards graduation, if applicable, as well as valuable professional experience in the field of strength & conditioning at the D1 collegiate level. Duties include: ACTIVE coaching during all training sessions, participation in the intern curriculum, teaching proper technique and safety, set up and break down of equipment the varsity weight room/on the field, enforce the rules and philosophy of the athletics department, serve as a positive role model for all student-athletes, and learn proper communication with coaches, student-athletes, and sports medicine staff. Applicants must be highly motivated, energetic, and have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Preferred qualifications include CPR/First Aid Certification, currently working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or in a related field, and have completed or are working toward a CSCS or SCCC certification. Queens University of Charlotte: Queens University of Charlotte Sports Performance department is now accepting applications for the position of INTERN SPORTS PERFORMANCE COACH for the Spring 2018 semester. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES are as follows but not limited to: assist sports performance coaches in program implementation of each sport, set up prior to and break down following workouts, completion of intern curriculum and routine organization/cleaning of the weight room. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS are as follows: open availability (10-20 Hours/Week), strong work ethic, reliability, desire to become a strength and conditioning coach, desire to learn and be challenged, and daily positive attitude. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION will be provided, candidates will receive valuable coaching experience within a DII athletics department located in Charlotte, NC. Ideal candidates should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree or have earned an undergraduate degree in exercise science or related field of study.
