Morningside College (NAIA - IA): Morningside College Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applicants for a PAID INTERNSHIP POSITION working with all programs for the 2018-2019 academic year. This position will start ASAP and complete at the end of the school year in May 2019. Internship responsibilities will differ and include various duties within the Morningside College Strength and Conditioning department. Hours vary during each semester and will include early mornings, late afternoons, and some weekend hours throughout the academic year. Interns will gain valuable, hands on experience in areas such as program design, speed and agility techniques, conditioning, facility and athlete supervision. Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an Exercise Science related field required. SCCC, CSCS, and/or USAW are preferred. Updated CPR/AED/First Aid required. Must have a strong passion to pursue a career in the strength and conditioning profession. Previous weight room or athletic coaching experience preferred. Compensation: $8,000 stipend for the whole academic year 2018-2019 broken up into monthly payments; in addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to obtain Practicum Hourly Requirements needed to sit for the SCCC exam administered by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association by an approved mentor. Fitchburg State (D-III - MA): Fitchburg State University is seeking highly motivated individuals for fall 2018 Strength and Conditioning internships. Interns will gain valuable hands- on experience coaching a variety of Men’s and Women’s teams. Daily responsibilities include set up and break down of training equipment, maintenance and upkeep of Landry Strength & Conditioning Center, and assist with coaching of all team training sessions. Interns will also learn implementation and usage of our Strength and Conditioning Technology – Gym Aware Units, First Beat Heart Rate System, and Coach Me plus Software. This is an unpaid position, however interns may earn funding for CSCS Exam registration costs. Duquesne: The Duquesne Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for interns for the FALL 2018 and SPRING 2019 academic semesters. This is a volunteer, UNPAID, position and offers Division I hands-on coaching experience in an educational environment and the opportunity for future recommendations and/or opportunities in the field of sports performance and potential credit towards degree completion as applicable. Job duties will include (1.) assisting primarily with the daily operations of the Football strength and conditioning program, along with the Olympic sport programs, (2.) facility maintenance and upkeep, (3.) equipment set up and break down for all training sessions, and (4.) participation in our internship curriculum which includes educational sessions, program design and teaching proper technique and safety. Included within the curriculum is hands-on experience with the strength and conditioning based software called Teambuildr. Applicants must be highly motivated, energetic, and have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. North Alabama: The University of North Alabama Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant of Strength & Conditioning Coach. This position would start receiving monthly stipend immediately this fall semester 2018 with admission and start of Masters Program at the beginning of spring semester in January 2019. North Alabama is a Division I Athletics program in the ASUN Conference for Olympic sports and Big South Conference for Football, located in Florence, AL. This position offers tuition waiver as well as a monthly stipend. Qualified candidates would be primarily responsible for the development, implementation and coaching of programs for Women’s Basketball as well as provide assistance in daily operation of the weight room. This individual will report to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, and work closely with the Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff. Candidates need to be knowledgeable in sport specific training, motivated, high energy, and contain great communication skills. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is required, previous experience working in the collegiate setting (basketball experience preferred), CSCS or SCCC, CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Butler: Butler is looking to hire a part-time strength coach. This is a 12-month position. Responsibilities include assisting with coaching and teaching of training programs for 20 teams and 400 student athletes, Build a training program for assigned teams. Maintain progress records for evaluation of success of the program. Qualifications include a four-year bachelor's degree, NSCA or SCCCA certification, CPR certification, USWA certificiation preferred, one year of S&C experience required.
