Concord University (D-II - WV): Concord is looking for a strength GA who is interested in implementing in-season and off-season football strength and speed programs. North Carolina: The University of North Carolina Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for the SUMMER 2018 Athletic Development Internship Program. This is an unpaid position. Start date: MAY 14th End Date JUNE 22nd. Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily operations and facility/equipment maintenance; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship. Intern qualifications include: Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic; Ability to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field; SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certification; CPR certification and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Interns will receive experience working in a Division I environment, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Florida International: Florida International University is accepting applications for the position of Intern Strength and Conditioning Coach for Summer 2018. Successful candidates will be working with Football and a variety of Olympic Sports. Compensation: Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities. Interns will gain valuable coaching experience on the floor as well as a weekly blackboard session to understand the principles behind the program. Lamar (FCS - TX): Lamar is seeking a graduate assistant. Responsibilities will include assisting the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator with the administration and supervision of the strength and conditioning programs for all sports and directly overseeing the design and implementation of assigned sports. Maintain a safe and effective weight room with a focus on the health and welfare of the student-athlete. Other duties assigned by the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator including supervision, organization and administration of athlete testing, computer data entry and assisting in the day-to-day operation of the J.B. Higgins Weight Room. This position requires early mornings, evenings, weekends, some holidays, and other duties as assigned. This is a Part-time, 10 month position. Includes a stipend. Strict adherence to established NCAA, Southland Conference, Lamar University and Texas State University System rules and regulations. A violation of these rules and regulations can lead to disciplinary action including termination. Reports Directly to the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field. Certification through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa-SCCC) or National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CSCS) required. Current first aid, CPR and AED certification. Experience with the Olympic lifts. Knowledge of strength training, speed, agility, flexibility, nutrition and cardiovascular conditioning required. Experience in a Division I strength and conditioning program. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Strong communication skills. Ability to motivate a variety of student-athletes on a daily basis. Initiative and leadership qualities on a daily basis. Knowledge/commitment to the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Southland Conference, Texas State University System and Lamar University required. Preferred Qualifications: Playing and/or coaching experience at the Division 1 Level.
