Army: Army West Point Athletic Association invites applications for the Developmental Strength and Conditioning Internship program for the upcoming 2019-2020 academic year. This is a volunteer (UNPAID) internship that provides experience supporting strength and conditioning staff and an extensive developmental program. Interns will have an opportunity to support Army West Point Athletic Association’s more than 1100 cadet-athletes across 28 sports in compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association guidelines. Potential candidates must possess strong character, be highly motivated, integrity, and demonstrate effective communication skills. Requirements include current CPR/AED certification; CSCS or SCCC, achievement or current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree related to exercise and/or sport science. The internship is expected to begin no later than August 12th. Texas Southern (FCS): The Texas Southern University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for Volunteer Intern Strength and Conditioning Coaches for the Fall of 2019. Projected dates of the Internship are August 19 through December 14 2019 with the possibility of an earning an extension. This is a voluntary position and will receive no monetary compensation. Priority consideration will be given to Candidates who possess or are working towards Certification through the NSCA or CSCCa and are CPR / First Aid / AED Certified. Desired attributes include outstanding organizational and computer skills, great work ethic and professionalism. Previous coaching and / or playing experience is a plus. Verbal communication skills with diverse populations is a must. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Set up and breakdown of training sessions for all sports, general maintenance and upkeep of Athletic Facilities, communication with Sport Coaches, Athletic Training staff and Administration, assist with Olympic Sports with the possibility of working with Football. Must be able to physically demonstrate strength and Olympic lifts as well as speed and change of direction movements. Added responsibilities as earned, such as, input into program design and leading groups / teams. Our goal is to develop COACHES. Selected candidates will receive valuable experience in the day to day operations of a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Department, program design and implementation, nutrition, speed, agility and explosive training. Marshall: The Marshall University Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for our FALL 2019 VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIP Program. JOB DESCRIPTION: Assist in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs, set-up/breakdown of training equipment, and general day-to-day responsibilities of a strength and conditioning coach. QUALIFICATIONS: Possess or pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree. Preferably certified or working towards NSCA-CSCS or CSCCa-SCCC. VALUE: This position will provide an opportunity to work directly with athletes in both small and large group settings. You will gain experience working with a variety of teams including Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Golf, Swim/Dive, Tennis, and Volleyball. Interns will have the opportunity to complete a mentorship through CSCCa approved mentor, Matt Donelson. COMPENSATION: This is an UNPAID INTERNSHIP. There is potential for FREE HOUSING AND UTILITIES. DATES: The Internship Program will run from August 26 – December 13 2019. Alabama A&M (FCS): Alabama A&M University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for Volunteer Intern Strength and Conditioning Coaches for the Fall of 2019. The internship will be August 19th – December 6th. Opportunity to continue interning through the Spring Semester will be Available. This is a voluntary position and will receive no monetary compensation. Priority consideration will be given to Candidates who possess or are working towards Certification through the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, or USAW and are CPR / First Aid / AED Certified. Previous coaching and or playing experience is a plus. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Set up and breakdown of training sessions, general maintenance, cleaning of the training facilities, assisting with the supervision and execution of the training sessions for all sports including Football and completion of the internship curriculum. All potential applicants are strongly advised to make sure this internship is economically feasible before applying. Chadron State (D-II - NE): The Chadron State Strength and Conditioning staff are looking for Interns for the Fall semester. Applicants must be in pursuit or be in the possession of the following; Exercise Science related degree, CSCS/USAW/SCCC. The position is an unpaid position offering coaching experience on the floor assisting with football and all other sports. Duties include daily operations within the facility and the nutrition room. Applicants must possess knowledge in the are of Olympic lifts. Morehead State (FCS - KY): Morehead State University is accepting applications for (2) Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning or Staff Assistant positions for the upcoming 2019 school year. This position will be for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 academic year and will include duties to cover a 10 month period starting August 1 and ending in May each year (pending approval from administration). Details on position and teams will be addressed once contacted. Candidate must be CPR/AED certified. Preferred qualifications: certified through the NSCA or CSCCa, or pursuing certification as well as previous experience in a strength and conditioning setting.
