Stetson: Stetson University Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for 2-3 Strength Interns for each of the Fall and Spring semesters of 2017. Interns will gain experience working with all 19 athletic teams at Stetson University including football. This is an unpaid position, but individuals will gain experience in a Division I collegiate strength & conditioning department, as well as possible future recommendation for employment. Applicants can also receive academic credits if applicable and needed for certain program requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the Hatter athletic teams, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate setting. All applicants should have, or be working towards a CSCS or SCCC certification. Previous experience coaching in a collegiate setting or playing a collegiate competitive sport are also highly desirable. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. Houston Baptist: Houston Baptist University’s Athletic Performance Department is accepting applications for aGraduate Assistantship for the 2017 school year. Graduate Assistant duties include but are not limited to: sport assignments; provide proper instruction for safe and effective lifting techniques and equipment usage; assist in the maintenance and daily upkeep of the Athletic Performance Center; and any other responsibilities assigned by supervisors. Candidate must adhere to all University, Southland Conference, WAC, and NCAA Division I regulations. Candidate must also have a strong desire to work in collegiate strength and conditioning post-graduation. This position requires early morning hours, late evening hours, and some weekends. Graduate tuition based on 9 hours per semester, unlimited meal plan with $350 declining balance dollars per semester, books, basic fees and housing. Tulane: Tulane University Strength and Conditioning is currently seeking applicants for 2 volunteer UNPAID internships for Football (2) for the Fall Semester 2017. This position will run from August 28 to December 8. Required qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors or masters degree in exercise science or a related field and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications: Experience as a collegiate athlete and currently pursuing or possessing NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s). Fresno State: Fresno State University is accepting applications for VOLUNTEER intern coaches to contribute to the Program. Qualified candidates will work with Olympic Sports, as well as have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an UNPAID opportunity that provides experience assisting the staff with the implementation of individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include current CPR/ AED certification, as well as achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study and CSCS or SCCC certification. This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, August 21st 2017, and end no later than Wednesday, December 20th 2017. During this time period, interns will receive experience working at the Division 1 level, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable. Florida A&M: Florida A&M University is now accepting applications for its 2017-2018 Fall Internship. We have IMMEDIATE openings for interns in Football and Basketball . The Florida A&M Internship Program is a VOLUNTARY position and NO housing or monetary compensation will be provided. We are looking for a group of hardworking and dependable people to help provide quality strength training for our student-athletes. Build your resume with hands-on experience in program implementation and other in-depth responsibilities. Learn the inner workings of a Division-1 program and work for coaches who blend tradition with scientific foundation. Applicants should be pursuing or have a certification through the NSCA, CSCCa, or equivalent. A degree in exercise science or equivalent background is strongly encouraged.
