Kentucky: The University of Kentucky Football Performance Staff is currently seeking applications for “VOLUNTEER” Strength and Conditioning Interns for the Fall Semester of 2019. This internship opportunity will be “UNPAID” positions beginning on Aug 5th 2019. The interns will assist with “FOOTBALL” only. Preferred applicants must be highly motivated, have a tremendous work ethic, and be interested in becoming a Strength and Conditioning/Performance Coach. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting the Football Strength and Conditioning Staff in all aspects of program administration. The position requires working directly with student athletes to teach proper lifting technique, assess and document progress of the student athletes during training, and maintain a clean, sanitized weight room. Within the UK Strength & Conditioning-Football Performance program, you will follow a protocol that allows you to learn how to: learn and teach proper lifting position and technique, research relevant training modalities, develop training programs and manipulate those programs based on time of year, sport-specificity, exercise progression, periodization, and utilization of available equipment. Please apply only if you are financially able. No compensation (stipend, meals, housing, etc.) will be given. A Nationally accredited certification is preferred but not required. Saint Anselm: Saint Anselm College (DII, Manchester, NH) is accepting applications for an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach position. The position is an 11-month with benefits position. Lawrence Tech: Lawrence Tech University is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2019 Fall semester. Job Requirements: The primary responsibilities of this position are to design and implement efficient training programs for assigned teams under the approval of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the Strength and Conditioning Staff in all aspects of training for all sports, program administration, working directly with student athletes to teach proper lifting technique, and upkeep daily maintenance of the weight room. All applicants may be subject to a background check. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, apply and be accepted into a Graduate Program at LTU, possess or be working towards a nationally accredited certification (SCCC or CSCS), and MUST be CPR/AED certified. Preferred Qualifications: A nationally accredited certification (SCCC, CSCS, USAW), personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and at least one (1) internship in the strength and conditioning field at the collegiate setting. Compensation: Position includes a half tuition waiver, stipend, and housing. Fairleigh Dickinson: FDU is seeking applicants for Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Under the direction of the Director of the Fitness Center, the incumbent develops and implements an approved program for strength and conditioning applicable to the intercollegiate athletics program as well as the general population at the Metropolitan Campus. Responsibilities include training, scheduling and supervising student-athlete strength and conditioning, supervising fitness center staff to include front desk personnel and exercise room attendants, oversight maintenance of all equipment, and developing and monitoring personal training programs for specific membership populations. Assures appropriate maintenance of equipment and supplies assigned to the strength and conditioning area; maintains records on examination and physical conditioning of student-athletes. Alabama: The University of Alabama Strength and Conditioning is currently looking for VOLUNTEER/UNPAID interns for the Fall 2019 semester to work with MEN’S BASKETBALL. Interns may have the opportunity to continue the rest of the season based on performance. Responsibilities: Assist in the design and execution of all facets of the athletic performance training program for MEN’S BASKETBALL, assist in daily maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep of training facility, active participation during in-service meetings and completion of an internship curriculum. Qualified applicants must have a strong desire to pursue a career in the strength & conditioning/ athletic performance. Preferred qualifications: bachelor’s degree or entering senior year of undergraduate course work, pursuing or already holding CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification, previous experience within a collegiate strength and conditioning setting. Wingate: Wingate is looking for an assistant sports performance coach. The Assistant Sports Performance Coach will work with all University student-athletes and teams with responsibility for designing, implementing, conducting and monitoring day-to-day operations in the area of sports performance. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, Current NSCA CSCS or CSCCa SCCC certification 2, One + years of collegiate or professional sports performance experience. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. Salaries and benefits at Wingate are competitive and commensurate with experience. Campbell: Campbell University Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking applicants who are highly motivated to fill internship positions for the Fall of 2019 starting the week of August 12, 2019 and going through December 10, 2019. This is an unpaid position. Interns will also have the chance to earn additional responsibilities. Academic credits can be applied towards an Exercise Science or related Undergraduate or Graduate program if necessary. This internship is approved for those preparing to complete the required hours for the SCCC certification. With education through experience being our main goal, interns will be provided and challenged with the key qualities of success in the Strength and Conditioning field. This includes professional development and continuing education, daily opportunities to learn and grow as a leader, expansion of network connections, teaching student athletes’ proper lifting technique, and daily weight room maintenance. While working with ALL Division I athletic programs, interns will gain practical coaching experience in accordance with the philosophy of the department and can begin to lay the groundwork for future opportunities with a consideration and recommendation for future employment. Qualifications: strong work ethic, attention to detail, enthusiasm, effective communication skills, positive energy, willingness to work, Bachelor’s degree or a degree in process, hold certification(s) and/or seeking to get certified in at least one of the major certifications below. Preferences (but not limited to): CPR/AED/First Aid Certified, CSCS, SCCC, and/or USAW Certifications. Portland State: Portland State University is looking for qualified applicants for full time internship positions during the fall term of 2019. This is an UNPAID VOLUNTEER internship working with all aspects and sports of the Portland State Strength and Conditioning Program. Responsibilities include coaching proper technique, motivating the athletes through off-season weight lifting and conditioning activities, maintenance and cleanliness of the new 9,000 sq ft Viking Pavilion weight room, as well as anything else the director of strength and conditioning coach needs assistance with. The applicant will receive valuable experience at the division I level as well as knowledge that will serve them in the field. Requirements: Must be able to work 4-6 hours per day & weekends when necessary, as well as any extra time that is needed to complete tasks; a high level of energy and enthusiasm for the profession, a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education (or related field) or in final semester, a valid CPR/First Aid certification, and a desire to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. Preferred: A Strength and Conditioning certification ex. CSCS or CSCCA (or working toward obtaining a certification).
