Santa Clara: The Santa Clara University Strength & Conditioning Department is actively seeking applicants to fill our Performance Coach (Part-time) position, responsible for assigned NCAA DI teams for 10-months at $1000.00/month. The Performance Coach is responsible for program design (12 months including the summer term following contract) and implementation (Aug. 1st-May 31st). The coach will also receive department SCU gear as well as continuing education resources. The Performance Coach will be required to follow and respect all department Policies and Procedures, assist in supervision of all weight room operations, as well as participate in staff training and educational opportunities. Garden City (JC - KS): Garden City Community College is currently accepting applications for Fall 2016 volunteer internship positions. Qualified candidates would work with the Sports Performance Department. GCCC is part of the NJCAA Jayhawk Conference with approximately 315 total athletes. This is an UNPAID position that is responsible for assisting the Director of Sports Performance and Football Coaches with the implementation of the summer and fall program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include certifications through USAW, NSCA, CSCCa. CPR/First Aid & AED are also highly sought after, however we may be able to aid with certification. Previous coaching experience is preferred but willing to work with the dedicated and enthusiastic. This is not an internship where the interns are only allowed to clean, very in-depth and hands on. Gardner-Webb (NC): The Gardner-Webb University Athletic Performance Department is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant (GA). Gardner-Webb University is a private, Christian, Baptist-related university in Boiling Springs, NC home to 22 NCAA Division I Athletics Programs. The intended start date is August 2016. Compensation includes full tuition waiver & a monthly stipend. The position is subject to a university background check. Responsibilities: assisting in all aspects of the Athletic Performance program, design and implementation of sport specific training programs for assigned teams; ability to effectively teach and execute proper technique of lifts and drills; supervision of team workouts; assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the Athletic Performance Facility & compliance with all appropriate university, Big South Conference, and NCAA Rules/Regulations. This position will be assigned 2-4 athletic teams to train while assisting with Football, Men’s Basketball & other GWU teams. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required as well as working toward or already obtained a certification from an accredited strength and conditioning organization (NSCA, USAW, CSCCa, etc.). Possess CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Experience working in a NCAA 4- year college or university weight room with a variety of teams.
