Ole Miss: The University of Mississippi is accepting applications for a Fall 2016 semester internship position that would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the Ole Miss Strength and Conditioning Staff with set up and breakdown of drills and equipment during the in-season program and other departmental functions. This internship program contains an academic portion, which entails multiple readings, as well as a hands on practical portion. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a nationally credited association, previous coaching in a collegiate setting, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. Official start date would be August 4, 2016 and end December 9, 2016. Wagner: Wagner College Strength & Conditioning is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistantship commencing Fall of 2016. The candidate will be eligible to receive a combination of Room, Board, and Credits in exchange for monetary compensation. This position is not benefit eligible. Responsibilities assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning will include but are not limited to: The implementation of training programs for assigned teams; Daily Responsibilities; Must adhere to code of conduct in terms of Graduate Assistantship contract. Required Qualifications: Confirmed undergraduate degree in Exercise Science or related field; CSCS or CSCCa certification; CPR certification . Tennessee State: Tennessee State University: Tennessee State University is currently accepting applications for one Paid Intern Strength and Conditioning Position. Compensation will be a monthly stipend and ten meals per week at the campus dining hall. This is a ten month position lasting from August 1st, 2016 until May 31st, 2017. Duties will include but are not limited to; programming and implementation for teams assigned by the Coordinator of Strength and Conditioning, assisting with the training of football, and weight room organization and upkeep. Candidates must have experience coaching large groups, programming, working alongside sport coaches, a Bachelor's degree preferably in exercise science or a related field, and either the CSCS orSCCC certification. Qualified applicants should email a cover letter, resume, and at least 3 professional references to Coach TJ Greenstone at tgreenst@tnstate.edu with the subject of: TSU Paid Intern Position Application. Minnesota State Moorhead: The Minnesota State University Moorhead Strength & Conditioning Program is actively seeking two full-time interested students to fulfill UNPAID internship positions for the fall semester. Candidates for the positions should be a graduate or undergraduate student in exercise science or a related field and have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Internship responsibilities will vary and will include various duties within the MSUM Strength & Conditioning Program. Hours will vary throughout the semester and may include early morning, late afternoon, or weekend hours. Interns in our program can expect to gain valuable, hands on experience in working with all aspects of training with our student-athletes. Qualifications: Graduate or undergraduate students working towards a degree in exercise science or a related field and must have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Compensation: These are unpaid, voluntary positions. We hope to equip our interns with the necessary skills for future graduate assistant positions.
