Marshall: Marshall University is accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Intern. Positions are available to commence June 2017 and conclude August 2017. Duties include assisting the full-time Strength and Conditioning coaching staff in all aspects of the Marshall University program including but not limited to warmups, regenerations, strength and speed training, conditioning, and athlete assessments. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree or a degree in progress in an exercise science related field as well as a strong desire to pursue a career in collegiate strength and conditioning. CSCS or CSCCA certification is preferred and CPR & First Aid certification is required. These positions are for volunteer coaches and no compensation will be provided. Buffalo State (D-III - NY): Buffalo State College’s strength and conditioning department is accepting applications for the Fall 2017 Strength and Conditioning Internship Program. This is an unpaid position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the strength and conditioning staff with the implementation of sport specific injury prevention, strength, speed, agility, flexibility, mobility, and conditioning program. Potential Candidates: Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s in a related field. A CSCS certification or a SCCC certification are preferred but not required. LSU: Louisiana State University is currently accepting applications for 4 Fall 2017 volunteer internship positions. Qualified candidates would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department as well as other sports. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the LSU Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the summer program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Other preferred qualifications include certification from an accredited organization, previous coaching experience, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. Temple: The Temple University Football Strength and Conditioning Staff is looking for qualified strength and conditioning interns for the 2017 Fall semester. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Temple University’s football program, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties and other duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is an unpaid internship. However, candidates will receive Division I Intercollegiate experience, college credit towards graduation if applicable and will be involved in the CSCCa mentorship program necessary to achieve the SCCC certification. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field; NSCA-CSCS or USAW certifications; CPR certification. Experience in a Strength and Conditioning Program or having previous collegiate athletics experience is preferred. Having a background in performing and coaching Olympic lifts is preferred. Minnesota: The University of Minnesota Strength and Conditioning Department (Men’s and Women’s Hockey; Cal Dietz) is seeking highly motivated applicants to fill FALL 2017 (August 28 – December) Sport Science internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. This internship can be used for course credits. Daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Download/analyze Catapult and Polar Team 2 data from practices/games/training sessions Conduct and analyze weekly Omegawave tests Download/analyze force plate data/DXA Scans Professional development, including various educational assignments during the internship Assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs Assisting with daily operations and facility/equipment maintenance Responsibilities will be assigned as they are earned. Texas: University of Texas Football Strength and Conditioning Program is accepting applications for unpaid intern(s) for the Fall of 2017. Responsibilities include assisting the Football Strength Staff in all aspects of developing and implementing strength, speed/agility, conditioning, flexibility, mobility, and recovery protocols for the Football Program. Daily weight room supervision, upkeep and maintenance of equipment, assist with performance and strength testing, completion of internship curriculum, and other duties as assigned. Interns will receive: Course credit towards graduation (if applicable), 640 hours toward SCCC Certification with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, Division I FBS / Big 12 Conference strength and conditioning experience. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must have a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should be enrolled in or completing their Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be certified in CPR/AED, and working towards certifications from any of the following organizations: NSCA, CSCCa, or USAW.
