UTEP: The University of Texas at El Paso is looking to hire one (1) graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach starting in the summer semester of 2019. The graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach will assist with Football and Olympic sports as assigned. They may also be placed in charge of 1-2 teams of their own. This position holds the responsibility of ensuring compliance with the NCAA regulations, and UTEP policies and procedures. Required: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sports or health sciences discipline, such as Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or other related field. Also Required: CPR, AED and First Aid certification, Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC) or National Strength and Conditional Association (CSCS) certification, and six months minimum experience in related strength and conditioning. This position includes full tuition waiver, books, and stipend, and is limited to 2 years in duration. In order to be awarded the position the candidate must be admitted to graduate school at The University of Texas at El Paso. Background checks are also required by the University. Louisiana-Lafayette: Ragin' Cajuns Athletic Performance is accepting applications for volunteer internship positions for SUMMER 2019. Report date is June 3rd and will run through the end of July. These are UNPAID positions; however, candidates will have the potential opportunity to earn a USA Weightlifting Level 1 & CPR / AED certification as well as work under a CSCCa mentor. Candidates should be working toward a degree in an Exercise Science related field. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a strong desire to pursue collegiate strength and conditioning and are willing to commit a minimum of 20 hours/week with early mornings, long days, and evening hours. Candidates will have opportunities to work with all Olympic Sports and the Sports Nutrition Department and participate in an internship program consisting of weekly assignments, presentations, and all staff meetings. Robert Morris: Robert Morris University is currently seeking qualified volunteer internship candidates for the 2019 Summer Semester. The strength and conditioning program will run from May 20th to August 16th (dates flexible). This is an unpaid position however, it is acceptable to have a part-time job to assist with personal finances. Chosen candidates can also have the opportunity to complete internship hours required for the CSCCa – SCCC exam under the mentorship of the Head Strength Coach. The daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the football program, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities, professional development throughout the semester, any other tasks assigned by the strength and conditioning staff. Interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting, education in program design and application, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities. In addition, there is opportunity for advancement within the Robert Morris strength and conditioning department as an apprentice, graduate assistant or part-time assistant post internship. The internship program’s goal is to advance the intern’s future in the strength and conditioning profession. Minimum Qualifications: Strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm. Effective communication skills. Desire to become a strength and conditioning coach. First Aid, CPR & AED certified. Preferred Qualifications: Pursuing or have attained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology or related field. Pursuing or have attained relevant certifications: CSCS, USAW, FMS, etc. Previous coaching experience in a collegiate, professional, high school or private sector setting. Competitive collegiate involvement. It is strongly advised that all potential candidates make sure that this internship is economically feasible before applying. UTEP: The University of Texas at El Paso Strength & Conditioning program is currently accepting applications for volunteer strength and conditioning interns for summer semester of 2019. This is an UNPAID position that will last for the duration of the semester with an estimated start date of June 3 rd , 2019 and an estimated finish August 7 th , 2019. An educational curriculum will be provided as well as practical experience working with student-athletes. Required qualifications include working towards or completion of Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, a strong work ethic, able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week, and a strong desire to learn. Preferred qualifications: CSCS or CSCCA certification and current CPR/AED certification. Responsibilities to include: cleaning and maintenance of Larry K. Durham Weight Room, assisting or observing training sessions of all sports teams, distribution of supplements and nutrition, set up and break down for all workouts, and other duties as assigned.
