Fresno State: Fresno State University is accepting applications for VOLUNTEER Intern Coaches to contribute to the strength and conditioning program for the 2019 summer pre-season training period. Qualified candidates will work directly with FOOTBALL, and will have the opportunity to assist in all aspects of training in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an UNPAID opportunity that provides experience assisting the Football Strength and Conditioning Staff with the implementation of individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention, and performance enhancement programs. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong work ethic and character, desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include current CPR/ AED certification, as well as achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science (or related course), and SCCC or CSCS certification. This internship is expected to begin Monday, May 27th, 2019 and end Friday, July 26th, 2019 with the potential to extend the internship into the fall season pending positive evaluation. During the 3-month commitment, interns will receive experience working at the Division 1 level, have the potential to EARN recommendations for future career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable. Northern Arizona: Northern Arizona University is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant position. The Graduate Assistantship is a two year position that will begin June 3rd. Qualified candidates must possess a strong work ethic, display an eagerness to learn, and have experience in sports performance. This position provides a full tuition waiver and $1,000 monthly stipend. Certification through the CSCCa or NSCA is mandatory, as well as, current CPR/AED certification. Accepted applicants will be required to work early mornings, evenings and occasional weekends. Graduate Assistant responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to the following: 1.) Program design and implementation for designated teams, 2.) Assisting with the supervision of daily training of other assigned sports, 3.) Setting up and breaking down equipment for training sessions, 4.) Assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities, 5.) Participation in weekly coaching education curriculum, 6.) Other duties assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Duquesne: The Duquesne Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for interns for Summer 2019 academic semesters. This is a volunteer, UNPAID, position and offers Division I hands-on coaching experience in an educational environment and the opportunity for future recommendations and/or opportunities in the field of sports performance and potential credit towards degree completion as applicable. Job duties will include (1.) assisting primarily with the daily operations of the Football strength and conditioning program, along with the Olympic sport programs, (2.) facility maintenance and upkeep, (3.) equipment set up and break down for all training sessions, and (4.) participation in our internship curriculum which includes educational sessions, program design and teaching proper technique and safety. Included within the curriculum is hands-on experience with the strength and conditioning based software called Teambuildr and velocity-based training systems, PUSH. Applicants must be highly motivated, energetic, and have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Candidates will be expected to volunteer a minimum of 20hrs per week. May also be required to work some evenings and weekends. Preferred qualifications include CPR/AED and First Aid Certification, currently working towards a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Exercise Science or in a related field, and have completed or are working toward a CSCS or SCCC certification.
