Florida State: The Seminoles football program seeks to hire a summer intern. The goal of our program is to provide an encompassing view of collegiate strength and conditioning, including programming, exercise technique and facility upkeep. The internship position is geared primarily towards Football, but the intern will in addition gain exposure to a diverse array of 15 Sports in a high paced environment. As an intern in the Florida State Athletic Development program you will have the opportunity to gain on the floor coaching experience, under the bar training in the program, exposure to our sports science department and areas of expertise from our nutritional staff. Aside from the daily duties required of the position there will be assigned readings and projects to further develop your knowledge base. This internship is designed for you to develop the needed experience and skillset to make you a strong candidate in taking the next step in your coaching career- this typically being a graduate assistant position. This internship is intended for those whose #1 goal is to become a Strength & Conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Qualifications: In pursuit of or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in an exercise science related field. Experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting. If not already certified you will be expected to begin your certification process towards your CSCS, SCCC, and/or USAW during your internship. Compensation: This is an unpaid position with no housing or meal assistance. Internship credit hours can be obtained along with expanding your professional network and references. Rice: The Rice University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for VOLUNTEER coaches for the Summer 2021 Semester. The internship is scheduled to begin Monday, May 31st, 2021 and will run through Friday, July 30th, 2021. This is an unpaid position; however, this opportunity offers a valuable professional recommendation for advancement in the field of strength & conditioning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the daily implementation of off-season training for the Rice Football team, set-up and breakdown of daily training sessions, routine maintenance, cleaning and organization of the training facility, data collection, as well as participation in a vigorous internship curriculum. This position also offers a unique opportunity to gain knowledge in performance technology through the use of GPS tracking and force plate monitoring. Prerequisites include, CPR/AED Certification, as well as completion of, or working towards, a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Youngstown State: The Youngstown State University Strength and Conditioning Department has (2) two open Graduate Assistant positions. The start date will be August 2021. Each position will be in charge of two to three Olympic Sports, and potentially assist with one other Sport. The candidate must be certified through the NSCA (CSCS) or CSCCa, have an active CPR/AED certification, and a Bachelor’s Degree in an exercise science related field with a GPA of 2.8 or higher. The potential candidate must have a willingness and drive to learn in a fast pace college environment. The position offers a generous stipend as well as a graduate tuition waiver (excluding student fees).
