Oregon State: The Oregon State University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Summer/Fall of 2021. This internship will begin June 21, 2021 and will conclude at the end of the 2021 Football season. Start and end dates are flexible. This is an unpaid position. Compensation will include gear, learning from an approved mentor via the CSCCa, potential to sit for the SCCC certification, and recommendations for future career opportunities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the Oregon State University Football team, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, experience working with Catapult GPS software, and completion of a multi-faceted internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related field of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. All applicants should have, or be working towards an accredited certification (CSCS or SCCC). Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. Abilene Christian (TX): Abilene Christian University is currently accepting applications for a PAID Strength and Conditioning INTERN. This position is 10 months in length (August - May) with the opportunity to be renewed each year. This position will be compensated with a 10-month stipend of $10,000 annually ($1000/month). This position will also have access to FREE on-campus housing year around. Candidates will have the opportunity to earn outside income as well. Minimum requirements include having a bachelor's degree in a related field and a CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) through the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) or SCCC (Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified) through the CSCCa (Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association) as well as be CPR/AED/First Aid certified. Prior intern/work experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting is required as well. Macalester (MN): Macalester College is accepting applications for Sports Performance Interns. The position is unpaid and for the 2021 fall semester. A time commitment of 10-20 hours per week is required. Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assisting the strength and conditioning staff with the design and implementation of strength, speed, and agility programs; Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment; Assisting with daily administrative and maintenance items; Other duties as assigned by the Head of Sports Performance; Intern qualifications include: Knowledge of exercise & the human body; Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic. East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State University is seeking a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach to oversee all aspects (i.e., speed/power/strength development, conditioning, nutrition, recovery, etc.) of the Women's Basketball program. Candidate must be certified (either CSCS through the NSCA or SCCC through the CSCCa) and have current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. Prior experience within a collegiate basketball strength and conditioning program is preferred. Admittance into a 2-year graduate program at ETSU comes with a full tuition waiver and $250 monthly stipend. Approximate start date of position is mid-June. William Penn: William Penn is looking to hire a graduate assistant athletic performance coach. Responsibilities include assisting with the design and implementation for a variety of William Penn University’s collegiate sports. The qualified candidate will be assigned sports based on his/her background and experience. This will include programming and coaching opportunities at BOTH the collegiate and high school levels. The position will also assist the Director for Athletic Performance, help with maintenance of the Randleman Fitness Center, and perform other duties as assigned by the Director for Athletic Performance. Proven knowledge and experience with sport specific strength, speed, and agility programs is necessary.
