Clemson: Clemson University Department of Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill Fall 2019 internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. Individuals will also have the opportunity to work with all the Olympic sports that train out of the Jervey weight room. It may fulfill course credit if necessary. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, attending to daily maintenance of the training facilities, use of technology/data analysis and professional development throughout internship program. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and pursuing NSCA-CSCS, and/or CSCCa-SCCCcertification(s). Compensation: This is a non-paid volunteer position. You will gain experience as well as the opportunity to learn and grow in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Catawba (NC): Catawba College is looking for qualified candidates for our Volunteer Internship Program for the Fall of 2019. Catawba College is a member of the NCAA Division II’s South Atlantic Conference. This is an unpaid position. Compensation will include Sports Performance attire/gear, learning from an approved mentor via the CSCCa, potential to sit for the SCCC certification in May, an opportunity to design and implement year-round programs for varsity teams, and recommendations for future career opportunities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the sports performance program at Catawba College, assist with football and other assigned sports, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of an extensive internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a very strong work ethic, completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or related course of study, and a desire to become a collegiate or professional strength and conditioning coach. Preferred applicants will have a current CSCS certification and working towards SCCC certification. Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Effective August 1st, 2015, NCAA legislation mandates that only certified personnel can coach athletes unsupervised, therefore current SCCC or CSCS certification is highly desired. Applicants without their CSCS or SCCC can still design and implement programs under the supervision of certified staff. Applications will be accepted until July 12th, 2019. Allen (NAIA - SC): Allen University, a NAIA School and member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) is accepting applications for a part-time Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. The position is a part-time position with a time commitment of 20-25 hours per week and begins as early as June 1, 2019 and runs until May 31, 2020. Description: This position will assist the Director of Strength and Conditioning and the sports performance staff in developing, implementing, and conducting strength and conditioning programs for all 11 sports here at Allen University. Additional responsibilities will include weight room supervision, daily upkeep, and maintenance of equipment, and additional job duties assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, sports medicine, physical education, or related field required. Applicants must be certified in CPR/First Aid and have one of the SCCC, or CSCS.
