Virginia Tech: The Virginia Tech Department of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports is currently seeking applications for 1 graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach for the fall of 2019. Candidates must have a strong desire to become a full-time Strength and Conditioning coach, and must exhibit effective communication skills, positive energy, attention to detail, discipline, and a strong work ethic. RESPONSIBILITIES: Will include, but are not limited to, the design and implementation of athletic performance programs for assigned sports, assisting with all other sports, weight room supervision and upkeep, daily communication with sport coaches and athletic trainers, and other duties assigned by the senior director of Olympic sports. Additional responsibilities will be assigned as they are earned. QUALIFICATIONS: Previous collegiate coaching experience. Bachelors in Exercise Science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, CSCCa and/or NSCA certification COMPENSATION: Tuition waiver and monthly stipend. Austin Peay: Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN is seeking to fill a Graduate Assistant Sports Performance position that will begin in June of 2019. Candidates must have a strong desire to become a full-time Sports Performance coach, and must posses strong qualities of passion, leadership, and integrity. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting with football sports performance, the design and implementation of sports performance programs for other assigned sports, weight room supervision and upkeep, daily communication with sport coaches and athletic trainers, and other duties assigned. Required: previous coaching experience, CPR/AED & First Aid Certification, Bachelor’s degree in an exercise related field with a GPA of 3.0 or above, and GRE scores of 140 on Verbal Rezoning and Quantitative Reasoning and a 2.5 on Analytical Writing. Fairleigh Dickinson (Teaneck, NJ): Fairleigh Dickinson University located in Teaneck, NJ has an extremely exciting opportunity as a graduate assistant strength & conditioning coach. Responsibilities include being the primary strength & conditioning coach for 2-3 teams and being the secondary coach for 1-2 teams. This individual will also be expected to offer new ideas and challenge current ones. The strength & conditioning department at Fairleigh Dickinson University is made up of extremely passionate coaches and hope the addition of this new staff member will elevate our program. Fairleigh Dickinson University has 19 division one programs in the Northeast Conference. The graduate assistant will enroll in the masters of sports administration program. There is no stipend with this position, only full tuition reimbursement. Sacred Heart: The Sacred Heart University Strength & Conditioning Staff is looking for qualified interns with an interest in Collegiate Strength & Conditioning to work with all 32 teams during their training sessions this Fall. The bulk of the internship will be devoted to Football. These positions are unpaid, do not include housing or meals, but will provide valuable experience in Collegiate Strength & Conditioning. The internship start date will be August 5thand will go until November 29th. Preferred candidates should possess or be working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in or related to the field of Exercise Science. An NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, or USAW Certification is preferred but not required. Nova Southeastern: Nova Southeastern University is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. This position reports directly to the Director of Sports Performance, while working collaboratively as a member of the NSU Sports Medicine Interdisciplinary Team. The position is responsible for assisting the Sports Performance staff in all departmental functions. The successful candidate will have full responsibility of 3-5 teams and will assist with the implementation of strength training, conditioning, speed/agility, flexibility and recovery workouts for all 17 athletic teams. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Must have experience working within the guidelines of the NCAA with regards to strength and conditioning. Candidates must be certified with one of the following organizations CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS). Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree with the ability to teach as an adjunct professor. Experience with Olympic weightlifting, functional training, and corrective exercise protocols. CISSN certification in sports nutrition.
