Pepperdine: The Pepperdine Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking applicants for the 2016 Fall Semester Internship Program. After candidate selection, interns will be responsible for weekly presentations to the full-time staff and weekly reading/research assignments. Interns will sit in on weekly staff presentations and participate in hands-on sessions directed by the strength staff. The subject matter includes weekly discussions and projects over assessing your athletes and pre-session readiness, understanding different models and methods of periodization and programming, resistance training variables, movement classification and selection, Olympic lifting, energy system development, power training, linear speed development, and other various topics. Responsibilities for the internship also include session set-up and breakdown, cleaning and upkeep of facility, spotting and working with specified student-athletes and/or small groups. You must be able to commit 20 hours per week throughout the semester to qualify. Our goal is to have interns advance in the field of strength and conditioning after completing our internship. Interns have completed our internship and transitioned over to other collegiate internships, accepted graduate assistant positions, as well as taken full-time jobs in the field. If you are serious about becoming a strength and conditioning coach, this internship will help you develop the necessary tools to advance in the field. Please note, this is an unpaid internship.
