Averett University (DIII- VA): The Averett University Strength and Conditioning department is currently searching for 2 -3 Volunteer Interns for the 2018-2019 academic year. The fall 2018 internship would begin August 8th, 2018 and end December 5th, 2018. The spring 2019 internship would begin January 7th, 2019 and end April 25th, 2019. THESE ARE UNPAID POSITIONS. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION OR HOUSING/TRANSPORTATION WILL BE PROVIDED WITH THESE POSITIONS. Completion of this internship can fulfill credit hours toward a program degree and offer an opportunity for advancement in the profession. Various projects and presentations will be assigned during the internship that will relate to all things necessary in becoming a strength and conditioning professional. Daily responsibilities for these positions include, but are not limited to; assistance in the supervision of all 16 Varsity Sports offered by Averett University, set up and breakdown for daily strength and conditioning activities, routine maintenance, cleaning, and organization of the training facility. Desired characteristics for these positions include; great work ethic, strong desire to enhance knowledge of strength and conditioning, attention to detail, punctuality, and accountability. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field; NSCA-CSCS, CSCCA-SCCC or USAW certifications; Required qualifications: CPR/First Aid/AED certification. Experience in a Strength and Conditioning Program or having previous collegiate athletics experience is also preferred. Utah Valley: Utah Valley University is looking to fill an opening for a part time Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for the upcoming 2018-19 school year. Looking for a candidate who has their CSCS or CSCCA, and experience working with baseball and/or softball. Successful candidate will have the opportunity to have responsibility for 3-4 teams. Total pay for the school year(August 1 - the end of April) is a minimum of $6,000(doe). Successful candidate would also have the schedule flexibility to be able to secure other outside employment to supplement their income if necessary.
