Buffalo: The University at Buffalo (Buffalo, NY) is seeking proactive and detailed candidates for an UNPAID Football Strength and Conditioning internship for the Winter/Spring semester of 2017. The start and completion dates are flexible. Candidates can work to earn one coaching spot on “the five” for football as well as assist with other Olympic sports if he/she has interest. Duties will include assisting the strength and conditioning staff with all aspects of physical and psychological development of the football team as well as gaining nutrition experience with the UB athletic fueling station. Candidates should have or be working towards attaining their bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field and at least one of the following certifications or in the process of acquiring these certifications: CSCS, SCCC, CPR. Preferred qualifications: former collegiate athlete, prior strength and conditioning work experience, bachelor’s and/or master’s degree or enrolled in bachelor’s or master’s program. Alabama State University: Alabama State University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for a Spring/Summer 2017 intern with a start date of Monday, January 9th (with some flexibility). This position pays $1,000 per month and meals. Individuals will gain experience in a division I collegiate strength & conditioning setting as well as future recommendations. This position will assist with Football, Olympic Sports, as well as the opportunity to directly train no more than three teams, men and women. College credit will be given as approved by their institution. Responsibilities will include: 1) Directly in charge of program design, implementing, demonstrating, supervising and organizing strength & conditioning regimes for specific teams. 2) Organizational and administrative office duties. 3) Other duties as assigned by the strength & conditioning director. Preferred applicants should have an outstanding work ethic, loyalty and have achieved or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in exercise science or a related field. Preferred qualifications: have obtained or currently pursuing NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s); must have CPR/AED/First Aid certification; Experience competing in intercollegiate athletics or experience working in a collegiate strength and conditioning facility; proficient in Microsoft Office; must be able to relocate if not in the area. Moving expenses not included.
