Ole Miss: The University of Mississippi is accepting applications for a Winter/Spring 2020 semester internship position that would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the Ole Miss Strength and Conditioning Staff with set up and breakdown of drills and equipment during the off-season program and other departmental functions. Required qualifications include completion of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a nationally credited association (NSCA-CSCS, SCCC), previous coaching in a collegiate setting, First Aid CPR/AED Certified, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. Applicants will also be asked to participate in a background check. Winthrop: Winthrop University is seeking applicants for the Strength and Conditioning Internship Program for the Spring ’20 Semester. Applicants should be prepared to start January 13thand complete the internship on April 27th. This internship follows an intensive curriculum preparing interns for a future in the strength and conditioning field. Responsibilities: Successful candidates will assist in the organizing & implementing of the Winthrop University Strength and Conditioning program. This includes, but is not limited to, the areas of equipment/weight room set up and break down, and weekly assignments involving movement assessment, exercise technique progression, dynamic warm-up, speed & movement training, strength training, soft tissue/mobility, and performance testing for all student-athletes. Interns will also be responsible for the daily maintenance of equipment and facilities, and the development of other assigned strength & conditioning materials. Qualifications: a strong desire to be a strength and conditioning coach, an unbeatable work ethic, and a positive attitude. The candidate must also be working towards the CSCS, SCCC or USAW certification. This position requires background knowledge in Kinesiology or a related field and as well as the ability to teach exercise safety as well as enforce weight room rules and regulations. Texas: The University of Texas Football Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting Internship applications, for the 2020 Winter/Spring Training Program. With over 25+ years of Head strength and conditioning experience on staff, the post-internship opportunities in this field are highly probable assuming a job well done. There are 4 intern positions available for the Winter/Spring semester. Responsibilities include assisting the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in all aspects of developing and implementing strength, speed/agility, conditioning, flexibility, mobility, and recovery protocols for the Football Team. Additional responsibilities will be to provide; daily weight room supervision, daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment, assist with and conduct performance and strength testing, completion of internship curriculum, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Applicants must have a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should be enrolled in or completing their Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be certified in CPR/AED, and working towards certifications from any of the following organizations: NSCA, CSCCa, or USAW. Previous experience in an intercollegiate strength and conditioning program preferred. Position: This is a non-paid internship position. This position does however offer housing at a reduced cost. UTSA: The University of Texas at San Antonio Strength and Conditioning program is now accepting applications for SPRING 2020 intern candidates. This is a VOLUNTEER, UNPAID position that will be responsible for assisting the UTSA Strength and Conditioning department with our Division I programs. Assigned sports will be delegated by our full-time staff. Our intern development program will give you a hands-on experience training Division I college athletes and the tools for future professional opportunities. Required qualifications include: completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Other preferred qualifications include a strength and conditioning certification from an accredited organization, previous coaching experience, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is NO MONETARY COMPENSATION so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. Official start date will be January 15, 2020 and continue through May 8, 2020. Missouri Southern State: Missouri Southern State University Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for a volunteer internship starting Spring 2020. CSCS or SCCC will be paid for if internship curriculum is completed in full. This internship will start in January and run until the first week of May. This is a football only internship. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with set up and break down for daily training, assisting with pre-practice/practice duties, meal checks, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. This is a hands on internship which you will have to coach and learn how to manage athletes on a daily basis. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Other preferred qualifications include previous experience involved in a collegiate sport. Abilene Christian: Abilene Christian University is currently accepting applications for VOLUNTEER Strength & Conditioning interns for Spring 2020. No monetary, housing, or food compensation will be provided. The internship will last from January 10 – April 30. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division 1 S&C environment under the guidance of an approved CSCCa mentor. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; an unwavering work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, the ability to adjust to a demanding work schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA, or CSCCa), previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer productivity applications.
