Tarleton State (D-II - TX): The Tarleton State University Athletic Performance Program is accepting internship applications for the spring 2017 semester, with a starting date of January 11, 2017 and an end date of May 12, 2017. The internship hours may be countable toward the CSCCa’s Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified practicum requirements if needed. The volunteer internship will involve active experience in an NCAA Division II Athletic Performance program under the supervision of a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach and his staff. Qualifications: Applicants should be pursuing strength and conditioning as a profession and possess, or currently be working on, CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW certification. Compensation: This is an educational internship with no monetary compensation provided. However, opportunities for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning are possible for successful interns. Stanford: Stanford University is accepting applications for (1) paid intern coach to contribute to the Sports Performance Program. The responsibilities of this paid internship position include but are not limited to; the development and implementation of individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. The successful candidate must meet the minimum qualifications, which include a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Exercise Science or related course of study, CSCS or SCCC certification, and 2 years (3-4 preferred) of experience at the collegiate, professional, or Olympic level. Applicants must also have current CPR/AED certification. In addition, the successful candidate must also possess strong organizational and communication skills, and working knowledge of basic spreadsheet and word processing programs. East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State University Football Strength & Conditioning is looking for two hard working, enthusiastic volunteer interns who are confident, have a presence and be able to coach Division 1 Football Student-Athletes for the Winter 2017. The two people chosen for this position must be able to start January 13 th 2017 and end May 4 th 2017. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning throughout the country. Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the C.S.C.C.A. or the N.S.C.A. A CSCCa 640-Hour Mentorship can be completed during this internship. Successful candidates should have competed in a varsity sport at the High School or Collegiate level to have a better understanding of what it takes to compete and train as an athlete.
