Western Carolina: Western Carolina University: Western Carolina University’s Athletic Performance Dept is accepting applications for the 2017 Spring Football Internship Positions. We have two spots available and these are UNPAID positions. Through this internship you will gain Division I experience under a CSCCa approved mentor and an opportunity for recommendations for future jobs. Applicants will also be given time to seek local employment to offset the costs of the internship. The internship will start January 5th and proceed through April 28th, 2017. Responsibilities will include: assisting with the football spring training program, teaching athletes proper technique on all major lifts, helping manage weight room nutrition inventory and budget, assist in keeping athletes accountable during sessions, daily maintenance responsibilities, weight room projects that may be periodically assigned, help with nutrition and weight management education, social media responsibilities and internship curriculum assignments for professional development. Applicants must be CPR Certified or must obtain certification once they arrive on campus. It is preferred that the applicant either has or is in pursuit of an undergraduate degree in a related field. Certification or pursuit of one of the following certifications is preferred: CSCS, SCCC, USAW, PES. Millersville: Millersville University is currently seeking qualified volunteer / internship candidates for the spring 2017 semester. This is an unpaid position. The spring strength and conditioning program will run from January 16th until May 12th (dates are flexible). Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program of the football team and potentially other University athletic programs, teaching student athletes safe and proper exercise technique, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities and professional development throughout the internship. This internship will provide hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Preferred qualifications: pursuing or have attained Bachelor's or Master's degree in exercise science, Kinesiology, exercise physiology, or a related field, previous coaching experience in a college setting or competitive college environment, pursuing or have obtained the SCCC, CSCS, USAW, FMS, or similar certifications, CPR and AED certified. USC: The University of Southern California - Athletic Department, is currently seeking full time, UNPAID/volunteer, Strength & Conditioning interns for Olympic Sports (this EXCLUDES football) for the Spring of 2017. The internship shall commence on January 8, 2017 and conclude on May 3, 2017. Other than Experience, knowledge acquisition, opportunity to earn and possible further recommendations for future Strength & Conditioning positions, NO compensation will be provided, however USC gear will be given to the candidates upon selection. The Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, as well as all the other full-time Coaches and staff with the set up and breakdown of any equipment utilized for the session of the day, assisting in the implementation of weightlifting, Plyometrics, all movement sessions including speed, agility, change of direction, warmups, assisting with the maintenance and all other duties pertained to the weight room. Minimum Qualifications: Punctuality, Strong work ethic, passion for the discipline of strength and conditioning, highly motivated, and preferred candidates must be enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program or higher with an Exercise Science or Physiology related field. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a Strength & Conditioning or Sports Performance environment, hold or working toward nationally accredited Strength and Conditioning certifications (CSCS, CSCCa, USAW, etc.), and knowledge or experience working with Microsoft Excel.
