Laney College (JC - CA): Laney College is looking for 2-3 Volunteer strength & conditioning coaches to work with football starting this summer 2017. Build your resume with experience and propel your career in the field of strength and conditioning with hands-on program implementation and other responsibilities. Learn the inner workings of a state ranked JC football program and work with a Head Strength & Conditioning coach who blends classic strength training with cutting edge sports science. Laney College is looking for individuals who are motivated, hardworking, and detail oriented. This is an UNPAID position. Applicants should be pursuing or have certifications through the NSCA & USA Weightlifting or equivalent. A degree in exercise science or equivalent background is strongly encouraged. George Wasington University: George Washington University is currently accepting applications for 2 available Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning positions. This is a one-year appointment for the 2017-2018 academic year with the possibility of renewal. Candidates must be accepted to the Exercise Science graduate program at George Washington University with a minimum GPA of 3.0 Applications will be accepted until May 1st 2017. Applications received after May 1st 2017 will NOT be reviewed. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science or Related Field. Candidates must be accepted to the Exercise Science graduate program at George Washington University with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Candidates MUSThold certified CSCS status with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). This is in accordance with NCAA bylaw 11.1.5 (effective August 1 2015). 1-2 years experience as a strength and conditioning volunteer/intern in the private sector, collegiate or professional level is preferred. COMPENSATION: Graduate tuition and fees for the 2017-2018 academic year (9 credits each semester), books and a stipend of $13,000 (paid September 1 2017 – May 1 2018). This is a one-year appointment for the 2017-2018 academic year with the possibility of renewal. Each GA will carry a 2-4 team load and will work with a variety of George Washington University sports. Design and implement sport specific programs under the direction of the Director of Strength and Conditioning.
