Abilene Christian: Abilene Christian University Strength & Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for 1 Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant position. This is a 9 month position (at will) with a start date of Sept 1st, 2018. There is a possibly of being kept on for a 2nd year. Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for assigned Olympic sport teams, and assist with all aspects of football. Additionally, this position will help with facility cleaning/maintenance and the athlete fueling station. Minimum Qualifications: *DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS To be eligible, applicants must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in exercise science) from an accredited college or university, certification from the CSCCa or NSCA, a CPR/AED certification, and must be accepted into one of Abilene Christian’s or Hardin Simmons graduate programs. In addition, they must have a strong work ethic, great energy and enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and great desire to learn about the strength and conditioning profession. Benefits: This is a 9 month position (at will) that includes: a stipend of $4500.00 ($500 per month), a tuition waiver of $4000 per semester (books and fees are not covered in this amount – you are responsible for books and fees), an on campus apartment (University Apartments), and a $250 stipend for continuing education. Maine: The University of Maine Sports Performance department is now accepting intern applications for Fall 2018. Applicants should be working toward a degree in Exercise Science (or a related field), or hold an undergraduate degree in the respective field. Selected individuals should expect to gain experience working with all 15 Division 1 sports at The University of Maine, including Ice Hockey (Hockey East), Football (FCS, CAA), Basketball (America East) as well as other nationally recognized programs. Applicants should be highly motivated, eager to learn, and possess the desire to be involved with high-level collegiate athletics. Applicants must be able to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week working with the Sports Performance staff. This is a coaching intensive position that also includes other administrative duties as assigned. Once accepted into the Sports Performance Internship role, interns should expect to learn directly from the sports performance staff through team training sessions, as well as involvement in weekly staff meetings and intern education workshops designed to prepare interns to sit for the CSCS exam if not already certified. UMaine athletics is fully outfitted with Polar Team Pro GPS/HR monitoring system—selected candidates will also gain knowledge about athlete monitoring through tracking internal/external training loads. East Tennessee: East Tennessee State University Football Strength & Conditioning is looking for 2-3 hard working, enthusiastic volunteer interns who are confident, have a presence and are able to assist with coaching Division 1 Football Student- Athletes for the Fall 2018 Semester. The individuals chosen for this position must be able to begin August 20 th and work through November 30 th for the Fall internship. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning field throughout the country. Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, and have a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the CSCCa or the NSCA. A CSCCa 640-Hour Mentorship can be completed during this internship. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the Strength and Conditioning staff. Gardner-Webb: The Gardner-Webb University Athletic Performance Department is currently accepting applications for the role of professional intern for the 2018-2019 academic year [August 22 – May 10]. This is a full-time, PAID position will report directly to the Director of Athletic Performance and will assist, as needed, with all day-to-day operations of Athletic Performance for each of Gardner-Webb University’s varsity athletic programs, including football and men’s and women’s basketball. The chosen candidate may also earn the opportunity to design and implement sport-specific training for teams as designated by the Director of Athletic Performance, and may also be considered for a Graduate Assistantship following the completion of the professional internship.
