Youngstown: The Youngstown State University Football and Olympic Strength and Conditioning Staff is currently seeking 2-3 highly motivated intern candidates for the Summer of 2020. This position would have a tentative start date of May 25th.The successful candidates will be both hard working and posses a willingness to learn. While this position is UNPAID, the candidate will be compensated through hands on experience at the Division I level with both Football and Olympic sports. Interns will have the ability to apply internship hours towards undergraduate and graduate programs. The candidates will also have an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and have the ability to COACH on the floor. Candidates will also have an opportunity to earn professional recommendations for future ventures. Candidates will have time for work opportunities outside of the internship if need be. Requirements: candidate must be CPR/AED certified; completed or currently enrolled in a degree program in exercise science or a related field; and currently holding or working towards a professional certification such as the NSCA CSCS; or CSCCa. The Citadel: The Citadel is currently accepting applications for VOLUNTEER Strength & Conditioning (S&C) internship positions. Internship slots are availble: Late May to Late July Late August to Early December Early January to Early May Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division I S&C environment under the guidance of an approved CSCCa mentor and three Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialists. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; an unwavering work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, the ability to adjust to a demanding work schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer productivity applications. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, daily, weekly, and semester long professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the S&C staff. *Summer interns will mostly work with our upperclass football players but will also have involvement with our full basketball team and incoming football signees during the “Summer Bridge” program. Virginia Tech: Virginia Tech Football Strength and Conditioning is currently accepting applications for two VOLUNTEER Strength and Conditioning interns for the 2020 Summer Program. These are UNPAID internship positions. Qualified candidates will work directly with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department. These UNPAID internship positions will be responsible for assisting the Virginia Tech Strength Staff with the implementation of the Summer Program, set-up and break down of all training sessions, facility and equipment maintenance, experience in a collegiate football setting, experience using our GPS system, as well as weekly professional development assignments and meetings. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Having participated in Collegiate Football is preferred. Start date will be the beginning of May 2020-July 2020. Central Arkansas: The University of Central Arkansas is looking to hire one (1) graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach starting in the fall semester of 2020. The GA strength and conditioning coach will assist with Football and Olympic sports as assigned. They may also be placed in charge of 1-2 teams of their own. Responsibilities will include: aid in Nutrition Center, set up, breakdown, stocking, and planning; design and implementation of training programs; meet with coaches and athletic trainers to collaborate on program design and modifications; weight room supervision; daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment; and other duties as assigned. This position holds the responsibility of ensuring compliance with the NCAA regulations, and UCA policies and procedures. All applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sports or health science discipline, such as Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or other related field. Applicants must be CPR, AED and First Aid certified, and must be certified or working towards certification through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC) or National Strength and Conditional Association (CSCS). Six months minimum experience in the collegiate strength and conditioning field is preferred. This position will be for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic year and will include duties to cover a 10 month period starting in August and ending in May each year. Included is a tuition waiver for graduate credit hours and a monthly stipend during the 10 months of assigned duties. LSU: Louisiana State University is currently accepting applications for 5 Summer 2020 Volunteer Internship positions. Qualified candidates would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department as well as other Olympic sports. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the LSU Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the Summer program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Participation in Collegiate Athletics is preferred. Other preferred qualifications include certification from an accredited organization, previous coaching experience, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. Texas Tech: The Texas Tech University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting internship applicants for Summer 2020 (May-July). This internship is designed for individuals who want to become collegiate strength coaches. This is an unpaid position. Successful applicants may be asked to stay on for The Fall at the discretion of the Strength Staff. Duties include: Set up and breakdown of the weight room, Indoor training facility, equipment maintenance and any other duties assigned by Football Strength Staff. Interns will have the opportunity to assist with all aspects of Summer Training with the Texas Tech Football Program. Qualifications: Applicants must be pursing or have completed Bachelors or Masters in Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should have attained or, be working toward SCCC or CSCS certification.
