Colorado State: The CSU Football Strength and Conditioning department has a number of unpaid internship opportunities available for summer 2017. These positions are designed to engage students who actively seek a career as a strength and conditioning coach in the day-to- day operations of the football weight room. Students will be exposed to all facets of an NCAA Div. I FBS football strength and conditioning program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the daily operations of the weight room, helping to create a positive training environment, assisting with distribution of nutritional supplements under guidance of a registered dietitian and strength and conditioning staff, record keeping and facility and equipment maintenance. These positions provide the opportunity to gain experience and examine career opportunities in intercollegiate athletics while working in a dynamic, exciting and collaborative environment. Students are encouraged to examine all aspects of the strength and conditioning program in an effort to maximize exposure to potential career opportunities. Individuals must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse community and advance the Department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. Ideal candidates will be certified or actively pursuing certification from NSCA and/or CSCCa. CSCCa mentorship program will be available for candidates seeking to obtain the SCCC certification, pending mutual agreement between the candidate and the Head Football Strength and Conditioning Coach. Preference will be given to candidates who are enrolled in a strength and conditioning educational curriculum and need internship hours as part of their educational requirements and candidates actively seeking SCCC certification through the CSCCa mentorship program. Interns should be prepared to work a variety of times including days, nights, weekends and holidays. All interns will receive instruction in – and be required to comply with – NCAA regulations and policies. Stanford: Stanford University is accepting applications for volunteer intern coaches to contribute to the Sports Performance Program. Qualified candidates will serve all 36 sports including Football, and will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an unpaid opportunity that provides experience assisting the staff implement individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character, and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study and CSCS or SCCC certification. Applicants must also have current CPR/AED certification. This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, June 19th 2017, and requires a 6-month time commitment. During this evaluation, interns will have the opportunity to compete and earn a paid intern position on the Sports Performance staff. Deadline to apply is: Friday, March 24th 2017. This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, June 5 th 2017, and requires a 6-month time commitment. During this time period, interns will receive experience working at the Division 1 level, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable.
