Texas: The University of Texas Football Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting Internship applications, for the 2019 Summer Training Program. Responsibilities include assisting the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in all aspects of developing and implementing strength, speed/agility, conditioning, flexibility, mobility, and recovery protocols for the Football Team. Additional responsibilities will be to provide; daily weight room supervision, daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment, assist with and conduct performance and strength testing, completion of internship curriculum, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Applicants must have a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should be enrolled in or completing their Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be certified in CPR/AED, and working towards certifications from any of the following organizations: NSCA, CSCCa, or USAW. Previous experience in an intercollegiate strength and conditioning program preferred. Position: This is a non-paid internship position. The successful applicant(s) will receive course credit towards graduation (if applicable) and Division I FBS / Big 12 Conference strength and conditioning experience. Southern University: Southern University is currently accepting applications for 1-3 VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT STRENGTH COACH INTERNS. This internship is designed to be the most hands on in the nation; responsibilities include assisting Director with Football, being in control of 1-3 Olympic Sports, and participating in the continuing education curriculum. Applications will be accepted until positions are filled. Position will provide on campus housing and meal plan. Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree, current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications, willingness to work a demanding and varying schedule, and effective leadership skills. Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor’s or Master’s in a relevant field, certifications from recognized organizations (NSCA, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous Strength & Conditioning coaching experience, and previous experience as a collegiate athlete. Metropolitan State University of Denver: The Metropolitan State University of Denver Strength & Conditioning Department is actively seeking hard working applicants for internship positions working with all varsity sports within our program for the Summer Term 2019 (June 1st – August 15). The intent of the internship is to provide a semester of hands-on training to prepare the candidate to take on the next level position in strength and conditioning as either a graduate assistant or full-time strength and conditioning coach. Interns are expected to participate in a comprehensive and challenging educational program, including lectures and hands-on experience in the following areas: program design, exercise instruction, Olympic lifting progressions and techniques, plyometrics, speed and agility techniques, energy system development, regeneration methods, nutritional basics, leadership and facility and athlete management. Internship responsibilities will include various duties within the MSU Denver Strength & Conditioning Department. Hours will vary throughout the semester and may include early morning, late afternoon hours, and weekends. Previous weight room or athletic coaching experience is a plus. Requirements: 1) CPR/AED/First Aid 2) Must be working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field 3) Must have, or working towards CSCS, SCCC, USAW, etc. 4) Must have strong desire to pursue a career in the strength and conditioning profession 4) Must be pro-active, excellent work ethic, and disciplined. William Penn (NAAI - IA): William Penn University is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Athletic Performance coach. This is a 12 month position starting in May/June 2019 with a two year commitment. Full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend are included. Candidates must be admissible to the graduate program with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Responsibilities include assisting with the design and implementation for a variety of William Penn University’s collegiate sports. The qualified candidate will be assigned sports based on his/her background and experience. This will include programming and coaching opportunities at BOTH the collegiate and high school levels. The position will also assist the Head Athletic Performance coach, help with maintenance of the Randleman Fitness Center, and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Performance coach. Proven knowledge and experience with sport specific strength, speed, and agility programs is necessary.
