Marshall: Marshall University (Olympic Sports) is seeking applications for a Part-Time Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This will start in August and will run until the end of the 2020 spring semester. Compensation is $11.51 an hour for 29 hours a week. A furnished apartment and utilities are also included. This position will write and implement programs for 2-3 Olympic sports at Marshall and assist with the basketball teams. Additionally, this position will assist the strength and conditioning staff with upkeep of the facilities and help mentor intern coaches. Candidates must have one of the following certifications Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa). Wagner (FCS - NY): Wagner is looking for applicants for their sports performance internship that runs in the fall from August - December and spring from January - May. This is an unpaid position. Specific dates are flexible based on candidate. Delaware (FCS): The University of Delaware Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIPS in Strength and Conditioning for the Fall of 2019. Start dates for the internship are August 22, 2019, through December 13, 2019, with the possibility of earning an extension. This is a voluntary position. Neither monetary compensation nor housing or meals will be provided. Priority consideration will be given to candidates who possess or are working towards their Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field, who possess certification through the NSCA or CSCCa and who are CPR / First Aid / AED Certified. Volunteer sports performance interns will have the opportunity to complete the CSCCa 640 hour Practicum under an approved CSCCa mentor. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Set up and breakdown of weight training and conditioning sessions for all sports, general maintenance and upkeep of athletic facilities, assist with sports nutrition and assist with data analytics. Interns will work a minimum of 6 hours per day/24 hours per week in morning or afternoon shifts. Additional hours are available upon request. Interns will work with Olympic Sports as well as football. This position is for people interested in becoming sports performance coaches. Selected candidates will receive valuable experience in the day to day operations of a collegiate strength and conditioning program. UTSA: The University of Texas at San Antonio Strength and Conditioning program is now accepting applications for FALL 2019 intern candidates. This is a VOLUNTEER, UNPAID position that will be responsible for assisting the UTSA Strength and Conditioning department with our Division I programs. Assigned sports will be delegated by our full-time staff. Our intern development program will give you a hands-on experience training Division 1 college athletes and the tools for future professional opportunities. Required qualifications include: completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Other preferred qualifications include a strength and conditioning certification from an accredited organization, previous coaching experience, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is NO MONETARY COMPENSATION so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. Southern Utah: Southern Utah University is actively seeking applicants for an unpaid internship position working with Football for the fall semester of 2019. Position start and end date is flexible. Internship responsibilities will vary and will include various duties. Hours will vary throughout the semester and will include early morning, and late afternoons. Interns in our program can expect to gain valuable hands on experience in areas such as program design, exercise instruction, plyometric, speed and agility techniques, conditioning, facility and athlete management. Our staff will take the time to mentor and develop interns within our program. We believe that an educated and well-trained staff will have a powerful and meaningful impact on our student athletes. Requirements: obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in a related field required, CSCS or CSCCA preferred but not needed. Wofford (FCS - SC): Wofford Athletics is seeking an Assistant Coach for the Strength and Conditioning Department. This entry level position will allow for practical experience and growth through program development and implementation for assigned teams while assisting with football. Requirements for the position are as follows: Bachelor’s Degree, Certification through NSCA or CSCCa, CPR/First Aid Certification, and previous experience at the collegiate level in the weight room. Buffalo State College (D-III - NY): Seeks applications for a semester-long UNPAID internship in strength & conditioning. The successful candidate will assist the head coach with all aspects of the strength & conditioning program and teams as assigned. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing a sound and well-rounded program that improves all facets of athleticism; provide safe instruction, supervision and motivation to assigned sports team(s); test and evaluate the student-athletes to show improvements regards to strength, conditioning, and overall fitness levels; assist in repair and maintenance for all equipment used in strength and conditioning area; and other duties as assigned by Head Strength Coach.
