Chadron State: Per source, Minnesota S&C intern Chase McLendon has been hired in a graduate assistant role at Chadron State.

Florida State: Florida State Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for interns for FALL 2018. This is a volunteer, UNPAID, position and offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity for future recommendations or opportunities in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include: assist the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in the training of the Florida State University’s Division I football program; assist with daily administrative and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; spotting athletes; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Minimum Qualifications: must have a strong work-ethic, enthusiasm and a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW and CPR –First Aid certification. San Jose State: San Jose State University is seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates for the position of VOLUNTEER/INTERN in the Athletic Performance Department for Fall Term 2018. The capable candidates will have the opportunity to advance their competence while gaining valuable knowledge and experience in the field of Athletic Performance at a Division 1A institution. Responsibilities for the positions are: assist Athletic Performance staff with all daily maintenance and operational duties, involvement in volunteer/intern professional development program, as well as other duties assigned by the Head Athletic Performance Coach. Required Qualifications: Applicants should have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Exercise Science or a related field and working towards CSCS or SCCC. Must have a strong desire to be involved in Athletic Performance at the collegiate level; proficient in Microsoft Excel; excellent communication skills, both oral and written; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; must be diligent and willing to learn; adhere to all University, Mountain West Conference and NCAA regulations. This position requires a minimum of 30 hours per week. Lamar: The Lamar University Strength and Conditioning Staff is currently accepting applications for strength and conditioning intern positions for the Fall 2018 semester. The internship will begin on August 24th and end December 7th. Qualified candidates will work directly with Football along with various Olympic sport teams as assigned. Interns will be directly involved with all aspects of Football during season, including gameday operations. Education through experience is our main goal. This includes daily coaching opportunities, opportunities to lead small team sessions, continuing education, an internship curriculum, expansion of network connections, and daily weight room maintenance. While working with all Division-I athletic programs, interns will gain practical coaching experience in accordance with the philosophy of the department and can begin to lay the groundwork for future opportunities, with a consideration for future employment recommendation. Qualifications: strong work ethic, attention to detail, enthusiasm, effective communication skills, positive energy, willingness to learn, willingness to work,Bachelors' degree or a degree in process (can be completed for class credit), hold or pursuing a SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certification. Midwestern State (D-II - TX): Midwestern State University (DII in Wichita Falls, TX) is still look to fill 2 graduate assistant positions for the upcoming fall 2018 semester. Requirements include: certification of CSCS, SCCC, USAW or currently working towards completion of one. Experience in a collegiate weight room. Undergraduate degree in Exercise Science or related field and be able to gain acceptance to the MSU graduate program as soon as possible. Positions will be filled as soon as possible. Charlotte: Charlotte men’s basketball is seeking applicants for the position of Strength & Conditioning Intern/Volunteer for the Fall 2018 semester. The internship will be primarily with men’s basketball, but can assist other Olympic sports as needed. Interns/Volunteers will also be responsible collecting and interpreting testing data, the daily maintenance of equipment and facilities, and the development of strength & conditioning manuals, instructional videos and updating social media sites. This position will not work with Football. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required, First Aid and CPR certified. Certified or working toward the CSCS, SCCC or USAW certification and Division I coaching experience. This position requires background knowledge in Kinesiology or a related field and as well as the ability to teach exercise safety as well as enforce weight room rules and regulations. Intermediate computer skills required. Good verbal communication is a must. Applications will be accepted until position is filled. Background check required at own expense if hired. Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. No monetary compensation, housing, or meals available at this time. Successful candidates will receive valuable hands-on experience coaching college athletes as well as mentorship. Course credit is also available if offered by applicant’s host institution.
