Florida State: Florida State University OLYMPIC Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for interns for the FALL 2019 academic semester. This is a volunteer, UNPAID, position and offers Division I hands-on coaching experience in an educational environment and the opportunity for future recommendations or opportunities in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include: assist the OLYMPIC Strength and Conditioning staff; set-up and breakdown of sessions; cleaning and upkeep of facility; spotting and working with specified student-athletes and/or small groups; assist with daily administrative and maintenance duties; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Minimum Qualifications: must have a strong work-ethic, enthusiasm, a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach, and able to work 30 hours/week. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW and CPR –First Aid certification. Tulsa: The University of Tulsa Athletic Performance Staff is currently accepting applications for three (3) hard- working volunteer/interns for the 2019 fall camps and in-season periods. Qualified candidates will work directly with the athletic performance staff beginning August 1, 2019 and ending December 20, 2019. We are looking for eager and enthusiastic individuals with a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning at the collegiate level. Responsibilities: include but are not limited to assisting the athletic performance staff with the set-up, breakdown and implementation of all training sessions; daily upkeep and maintenance of weight room equipment; assist with daily administrative tasks and any other duties assigned by the intern coordinator. Qualifications: Minimum age of eighteen (18), will have obtained or be working towards a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, as well as possess or be working toward their CSCS certification from the NSCA and/or their SCCC certification from the CSCCa. CPR/AED certification is mandatory and all qualified candidates must be able to pass a background check. Qualified candidates will receive hands-on experience working in a Division I football program, participate in continuing education sessions to build their knowledge in performance and nutrition, and have the opportunity to build and establish professional relationships for future employment recommendations. UTSA: The University of Texas at San Antonio Strength and Conditioning program is now accepting applications for FALL 2019 intern candidates. This is a VOLUNTEER, UNPAID position that will be responsible for assisting the UTSA Football Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the Football In- Season program. Our intern development program will give you a hands-on experience training Division 1 college football athletes and the tools for future professional opportunities. Required qualifications include: completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Other preferred qualifications include a strength and conditioning certification from an accredited organization, previous coaching experience, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is NO MONETARY COMPENSATION so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. North Carolina A&T: The Strength and Conditioning Department at North Carolina A&T State University is looking for 2-3 interns to fill an immediate opening for the Summer of 2019. Based on performance this position can be extended to the fall semester. Candidates will have to opportunity to work with football, track & field, and baseball during the summer. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, attending to daily maintenance of the training facilities, help manage/upkeep of fueling station, and gain knowledge through the department internship curriculum. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and pursuing CSCCa-SCCC and/or NSCA-CSCS certification(s). Compensation: This is a non-paid volunteer position. You will gain experience as well as the opportunity to learn and grow in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Limestone (D-II): The Limestone College (DII) Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for our FALL 2019 VOLUNTEER UNPAID INTERNSHIP Program. JOB DESCRIPTION: Assist in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs, set-up/breakdown of training equipment, and general day-to-day responsibilities of a strength and conditioning coach. Interns will receive experience working for a highly competitive Division II Athletic program in both small and large group settings, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Interns will gain experience working with a variety of Limestone’s 26 varsity sports including Football, Men’s & Women’s Lacrosse, Baseball, Men’s and Women’s Wrestling. QUALIFICATIONS: Possess or pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree. Preferably certified or working towards NSCA-CSCS. DATES: The Internship Program will run from August 19th – December 13th 2019. Grove City: Grove City College announces an opening for a paid Intern Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2019-20 academic year. The candidate will be responsible for assisting the strength and conditioning program for the entire athletic department. This will require collaborating with the strength and conditioning staff to develop and coach the proper workout protocol for all the athletic programs at Grove City College for both in-season and out of season time periods. The qualified candidate will possess a four year degree and a current strength and conditioning certification, preferably either CSCS, or CSCCA. The position will pay a monthly stipend, meals while school is in session and includes health benefits. Maryland: University of Maryland Basketball Performance Department is currently accepting applications for our Summer/FALL 2019 UNPAID VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIP Program. JOB DESCRIPTION: Assist in the implementation of basketball performance/strength & conditioning programs, set-up/breakdown of training equipment, and general day-to-day responsibilities of a strength and conditioning coach. Interns will assist with set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Preferred qualifications Include: energy, passion, enthusiasm, work ethic. Will have obtained or be working towards a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, as well as possess or be working toward their SCCC certification from the CSCCa and/or there CSCS from the NSCA. CPR/AED certification is mandatory and all qualified candidates must be able to pass a background check. VALUE: This position will provide an opportunity to work directly with athletes in both small and large group settings offer. Southern: Southern University is currently accepting applications for 1-3 VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT STRENGTH COACH INTERNS. This internship is designed to be the most hands on in the nation; responsibilities include assisting Director with Football, being in control of 1-3 Olympic Sports, and participating in the continuing education curriculum. Applications will be accepted until positions are filled. Position will provide on campus housing and meal plan. Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree, current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications, willingness to work a demanding and varying schedule, and effective leadership skills. Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor’s or Master’s in a relevant field, certifications from recognized organizations (NSCA, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous Strength & Conditioning coaching experience, and previous experience as a collegiate athlete.
